Just completed Ultima I, and I understand why it was fantastic in 1980. But I also understand why people find it boring/annoying

Ultima I
+ better graphics and better interface
- turnbased combat
= Diablo.

Onwards to Ultima II..

It is supposed to have a deep change only on Ultima IV with new "reputation" system. I have U IV, and the Savage Empire, and Ultima VII and Ultima IX, played all of them, though I've never finished the IV one.
