Mostly i use sunfire and fireball combined with chromatic orb and magic missiles with an occational acid or fire arrow

ofcorse stoneskin mirror image and the lowest level of spell deflection is also used quite frequntly.

I did the slavers and the circus tent in the city and got to the point were you are told by Edwin to kill the cowled wizard. (Can't get past those d**n golems  )

as I said I finidhed trademeet and I'm heading of to umat hills right now to clense the evil shadom king from the world :p

Spell turning, or deflection?

My list of Golem killers...

Imprisonment
Lower Resists / Skull traps
Tensers transformation / Two Staff maces or a good staff (Sotm, Sotr or Staff of striking)

But when your still low lvl.. infact, I can still remember killing those punk golems.. I mirror imaged / blured / stonskins and hasted, put on my hill giant strength girdle and took em down with a staff of striking

Btw.. Are you planning to get Death fog?

If not, I highly recomend it.. Its great for taking out enemy summons and is awesome for enemy spellcasters since it bypasses goi and is the earliest workable spell for liche killing..

First I can't remeber which one it was turning or deflection

Second I think i'd rather get abidhalizims horrid wrilthing for death fog. I just love putting it into a contegancy and watch the minions of other people die muhahaha

As for the golems I didn't have gold enough to get any good equip until I went to trade meet and now well I don't feel like goingback into town for the sake of getting some melee stuff.

Abhi Dhalzims are all well and good...

But there an 8th lvl spell, not a 6th..

The moment I got death fog I killed the gate liche the elemental liche the shade liche and Kangaxx, +with some melfs and a protection from undead scroll, his dodgy floating head alter ego

This was at very low lvl.. and I didnt get touched,

Four death fogs stacked will kill a liche quickly, and he wont get to cast any spell back becouse they strike intermitantly and disrupt all his spells

a fast 22+22+22+44k exp... Not bad to credit a 6th lvl spell with

True but then again it is a sixth level spell and this is IMO the spell level which has the best spells in it if you compare to level. Can't remember what they are but Edwin is usually fully written up on his sixth level spell page and he uses almost all of the from time to time

I would credit it only with true sight and deat fog...

But in soa, you dont really need true sight

Peirce magic is nullified by Death fog though...

This is the point im trying to make,

Death fog is an area effect spell, it ignores spell protections including goi.. So it kills mages without you needing to take there prots down

And improved haste is no good for a char with 1 attack, it only gives you 1 more attack.. Normal haste or oils of speed to do the same...

Oh I didn't think of it in that light. Maybe I'll keep death fog then. Sinse it is only level 6 I can include it into a spell trigger so three death fog at once = great deal of pain I like it :D

Damn straight!

Thats 24 dmg per round for a long time...passing all spell prots!

Remember though, dont just use a single spell trigger as you need to hit somone 2 or more times during a spell to garuantee a disruption, so spam allot of them but not all at once.. So they hit the guy intermitantly instead off all at the same time

True but by the time they actually manage to cast a spell most spell casters will be long dead sinse constituation isn't their strong point.

Liches do have a respectable amount of hp's.. Enough so to get off that first time stop, at which point the cloud stops hitting them... and they can do some hurt back..

Though, 24 dmg a round is solid few maged could stand up to it.. Its the average of a lvl 20 incendeiry cloud.. lol, infact its way better becouse cloud is resisted much more often, think about all those mages sporting fire sheilds or casting protection from fire

Infact... Death fog and Abhi's are so effective vs enemy caster.. I didnt take true sight or any kind of abjuration in my last game

I know waht you mean. when you kill that fast there is no need to see the enimy. You just vaporise everything that is unlucky enough to get in your way

Sorcs with Cloud spells are like Nuclear weapons.. When the other side dont have em, theres no dogmatic polotics or morality stopping you from letting loose.. and

They even have a "no go zone' after you let them off

I've soloed a sorc through SoA before (I didn't get to the end of ToB) and it was really easy once I got to lvl 13-14. Early in the game, Melf's meteors can really help take out various stuff that you can't otherwise. IIRC I killed a bunch of Adamantite Golems with it. :D

As far as area damage spells go, abu-dalzim's & delay blast fireball & inc. cloud are the way to go IMHO, sunfire is great in the beginning. Project image/chain cont and unload for some serious damage. If you're really evil, greater malison & web to make sure enemies don't get away. :D :D :D

Are you implying that sunfire bypasses magic resistance?

Never known about that... !

Please enlighten me, I happen to be in a place full of drow and mind flayers right now!
Where we came from, we don't know
Where we're going.... (even worse)
And about who we could be, we actually have trouble in clearly defining the term "to be" in the first place...
