its not sense...its sorta like this evil, this creeping intruding thought that just would not go away, sorta like the chicken seeing a cobra swaying gently cannot resist taking the first step, and a step after that, until the cobra pounces and bites its head off....
or more simply, if you have a rubber balloon like object in your hand, and you find yourself in a high rise building and you see a balcony in front of you, and you see a bathroom with a working water faucet, you can not help yourself...especially if your date just poured her drink over your head and left with her friends....

Umm, snakes don't bite the heads off things. 
Their teeth aren't made for chewing or tearing off pieces of flesh. They swallow their prey whole and slowly digest it.

of course snakes dont bite heads off...it just sounds cooler...
and no i have never been in that scenario, never went to a party in a high rise building, and never used balloon like objects as water balloons, though came close a couple of times....
