Actually, I believe she's quoting Orwell's astonishingly prophetic novel, 1984.

I intend to, rather snowed under with novels anyway but i keep hearing about 1984, isn't it mostly about communism or am I think of Animal Farm?
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

Animal Farm. 1984 was a prescient novel about Big Brotherism, power, and thought control via public relations in the media.
