how do you download the files?

Ok guys...thx. Now just to beat this to death a little more , how would you approach this. If the quests are not available to me, is there still a way to accomplish getting the eggs and continuing on or am I stuck?

Do you really need the eggs to leave the UD?
I'm not 100% sure but I think you can just kill the drow and the dragon and than leave through the Kuo-Toa dungeon.
Perhaps you'll still be stuck with the drow look though.

Hey, I've never heard that you can be trapped in the city. What's up with that? Who's the person that must show up?

I always thought I'd go through everything, then unleash a few pit fiends and watch the fun. Is this bad?

frelic, you ARE missing a lot of quest on that city.
The general idea is simply talk to Solaufein and do the quests that are presented to you, for example there is some gladiator fights in the tavern against both drows and monsters.(the XP is nice).
You became traped because the matron mother close the city until the ceremony is finished.

hey, don't worry, I pretty much try to wring the game dry of xp's. I've actuallly done most everything (I did the beholder and illithid dungeons, then told the matron mother I'd need time to get the kua toan blood. I've done the fights already. And I'm wondering how I'm going to fit Deirex in timewise.

But this is the first I've heard of being trapped inside and unable to open the gates. I just want to make sure that when I kill everyone in the temple during / after the ceremony, (actually, I'd prefer to kill Phaere, Matron and the demon lord or do you get xp's for phaere and matron when demon lord kills them?) - at the end, when I start killing the city, that I'll be able to get out at some point. Someone said some people have been trapped because a particular person hasn't shown up - or suggested if the city turns hostile, that the gates are locked. I always figured I'd like to see a few pitfiends in action, but I certainly don't want to be trapped inside Ust'Natha forever. I hope that's clearer. Advice? Thanks!

Just to clarify...I'm not officially trapped...yet
It's just that after reading the walkthrough, it looked to me like if I didn't complete the quests then I couldn't get out.
Also, for my info, if I would like to do this level properly, is it an option to get someone else's saved game just before entering Ust'Natha and re-enter properly???

no that's not true..soon as i walked in i killed the first drow i saw..killed everything in the city then went and got the eggs...

the ONLY time you get "trapped" is if you've done the quests up to where the matron mother seals the city..in which case, you can't leave til she's dead.

and yes you can get someone else's save game before entering the city.

@gymscat, you should be fine even you miss out some entertaining plots. Just kill everybody in the city and get the eggs from the temple of Lothl(sp?) if you want them. You don't need the eggs to get out of Underdark, there is an exit in the Kua-Toa dungeon, but you will get a lot of XP for returning the eggs to Adalon. If you play an evil party and want to kill Adalon, don't talk to her with the eggs in your inventory, because then she will transform and teleport everybody to the exit from Underdark.


@frelic: I have heard of some people getting trapped in the city either because they took too long between different quests, and also, one person who never found the Matron Mother and thus was not able to kill her. Maybe these are bugs, I don't know.

1. You MUST get the eggs or you MUST kill Adalon! Well, there is an exit in the Kuo-Toa dungeon but it is locked! Only Adalon can open it or the scroll(?) which you get when killing her.
2. What to do: As far as I know, you have to clear the Drow City. Clear some house nearby and set your base there. Fight your way into the Temple of Lolth. The eggs are there. I have heard that you get trapped in the city but the city gates open again after clearing the city. Perhaps, killing Matron Mother Ardulace will suffice (I do not know).
3. The only valuable things you lose are the medium shield Sentinel +4 and 3 potions of invunerability (you have to kill the shopkeeps). Also, you lose some quests (no real harm) and some reputation increases (should not be any harm).

I actually got stuck in the drow city, but only because I wanted to see the whole goddamn thing. I took some stairs up to some brigdes between the second floors of some house and when I came up there, there was no way down. Nice weiw and all but I had to reload to get down. There was simply no dorway leading down again, tried everywhere but I didn't get the stairs symbol anywhere. A bug maybe ?

Did anyone else go up there ?
