Yes, that's a real English word, and that's a commonly used phrase. :)

Aerie requires a lot of patience. First of all, if you want her to become dependent on you, which is what most relationships are all about...
I take it you've had a lengthy lifetime of experience, and have carefully whittled the sum of all human relationships down to this single axiom? I'm impressed. Or not. :D ;)

But for the rest, I tend to think that all the party NPCs in BG2 are fairly high maintanence types, much as you'd expect they would be, if they were not anchored in conventional society. Besides, who wants a group of companions in a game that have all the personality of Biff the Understudy?

I think the lesson (if there is lesson in BG2; and there isn't) in the romances is that you get out what you put into it. This is true of personal relatsionships in reallife, though obviously, there no's editable script to deal with. That's why reallife is much more interesting, and exciting.

az, did you do the curse quest, and get her a locket and do the poisoned harper (renfield) quest, and the xyar quest???

all those are necessary to make her romance start properly...her romance follows the harper uber quest plot line

Aerie transforms into a complete sex kitten in the BG2 expansion, Throne of Bhaal. If you stay with her and help her build up her confidence and earn her trust, you'll be rewarded. All in all, that seems pretty realistic to me. If we're lucky, it might teach a lesson about young women to some of the guys out there. :)

However, only Nalia actually waits until you marry her, which is an even better lesson. ;)

Euhhh.......I second Fable's response :D

And about the pin from the guy at the docks district.....I dont know if you really NEED this.......because ive had games in which she romanced me wetherer I had it or not.

Also, Azmodan, it could be that your romance is just messed up (Jaheira's romance is the romance which is most likely to "crash")....that happens alot also......and this is real hard to fix

Yes, it's true. And while I'm at it, the entire corpus of Immanuel Kant, one of the greatest philosophers of all time, can be summed up as, "Be nice to each other."

"xyar quest"..... what is that?!..... but yeah i did all the harper quests, and bought her the locket. maby it's becuase of my agliment?!.. i allways play chaotic good. ... And about Arie, it's not like i was a bastard, i just told her that i didn't like her in that way!. because she said some mean things about Kahlid, and i happen to think that Kahlid was a hero! :D

so... but i did get raped by Phere (the drow woman), though.... most unpleasent experience.. (i forgot that!)..

Your aligment is not a factor......Chaotic Good works well :D

And yeah.....I also say, when Aerie talks about Khalid, that she shouldnt attack Jaheira and Khalid so hard.

So unless you react TOO hard, nothing should be wrong.

Just remember that the Jaheira romance is one of the most buggy aspect of the game

i finished the game.. without a love interest. like i allways do. :(
maby it's because im female in RL, that i don't have the patience with either of the women!.. I really like Jahiera though.. but i'll have to bite my tounge, and try out a romance with Arie the next time.. and do you know if i still can make it if i install ToB. ?!?!
or is my lovelife as a hero just wasted?!?!

The only way a romance continues in ToB is if you have FINISHED it in SoA.

I believe there is one way to get the romance started anyway and that is too put the "jaheiraromanceactive" on 2

This can be done with Shadowkeeper which, im pretty sure, uve allready heard about

Else you should restart...
And I know that can be a pain in the *s* sometimes...

Next time you romance a "woman"........just dont awnser something too radical.......then I think everything will be allright...

If you want a romance, just pay for a harlot in one of the bars. What more could an adventurer want? Jeez - you're supposed to be an adventuring hero, not a freakin saint! I like this feature in the Fallout games, you can even set the members of you party up for their own one night stand or just pay extra to let them watch. Besides, if you get the Calamshan Itch you can get Aerie to make you a nice salve, then sleep with her and kick her out of the party. Be sure to listen to the advice of Korgan when it comes to affairs of the heart - he be the man (err, dwarf).

i thought i was the dirty one here! :D *lol*

If you want to start a romance in ToB, all you need are the Forgotten Wars' Flirt Packs.
It's a mod that add dialogues and options to the romance, but, most important, it allows you to start a new game in ToB and "Summon" some of you romantic interests from soa through the Fate Spirit specifying that you were in love with them.
This causes the romance to be set automatically as "active", as if you played it thoroughly in SoA doing everything right, and allows you to start the ToB part of the romance without having to restart from the beginning.

At present it works only for Aerie, Jaheira and Kelsey (Viconia and Anomen's flirt packs are still being worked upon).
Hope it helps.
You should get them, really: the flirt packs are a good and pleasant idea, like anything that adds to the interaction with ncps ;)

You can find the link... let me think... in jcompton's signature (same as Kelsey) which means pretty everywhere... then in the sticky thread about BG2 crossroads... then at Forgotten Wars...

... and then here,ok :)

Bioware NPCs Flirt Pack

(it may be good visit the forum to read the readme and FAQs, anyway) ;)

Heh. I'm that bad, eh? :)

At the moment there are only Aerie and Jaheira flirt packs, so they're the only beneficiaries of summon-in-romance (well, Kelsey works that way too if you start a TOB game with Kelsey-TOB installed, but that's not part of the Flirt Packs as such.)

You get new dialogue to go along with the summoning, too.

No, you are no bad at all!
(...And as somebody else said before, Kelsey deserves all the promotion he can get and then some...)
Your signature proved very useful when I first started looking for mods! :)
(Guess what's the first mod I installed?) :D

Really, the sticky thread has gotten pretty messy through times.
The occasional browser is not very likely to find what he's looking for in it.
I would feel guilty to just point all the newcomers there.
