Phew! Finally got it to work. Seems that I wasn't alone with the unzipping thingy. How I wish there was an idiot proof method!
For anyone facing the same problem, I used the "extract" function in Winzip instead of just downloading the file and clicking on the Dungeon.exe file inside the BG2 SoA directory. After extraction, I went into the SoA folder, found the Dungeon.exe file and hey presto! No "dialog.tlk not found" message.
