I guess that if you rest after every little battle, it will not be roleplaying, but a big battle is more exhausting, so often after big battles, roleplayers rest...
I don't see anywhere where big or little battles are mentioned as criteria for rest or roleplay...do you?. If you want to rest after every battle little or big...its your choice...its all good if it feels good to you

I know that even after a big battle (say the one against half-dragon balor) there's often a RP reason to not rest. If you knew the general of the Luskan army was within your grasp, and that people were dieing around you, would you have a nice little nap, or gulp a few potions and end this invasion? It makes sense after clearing a dungeon when you return to town. It doesn't after every encounter in that dungeon, whether it was a tough 4 fire giant ambush or a blue dragon battle. Actually, I doubt very much I'd be sleeping anyway in a place with boiling lava nearby.
I can just see the situation: "We've been wounded by a fire giant. Should we keep moving?" "Of course not, why don't we just lie down right next to this bursting and bubbling lava pit and get some rest."

i agree with the two of you but don't get carried away... rest is also the part of roleplay
