No, he's out of the question. Not many versions of the game can allow that to happen. Sorry.

There is a version of the game which give you the "no valid items" message when you try to pick pocket him. It's the same version that lacks the RoW in the FAI area. The hole in the ground isn't even there. Anyway that's the version I used to have until one of my CD's got scratched and I had to get the Original Saga.
Well now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

Well put.
Hmmm, do I sense a famous quote used in a segment of G.I. Joe? *thinks back to his cartoon days as a little tike by the thought of that*
(somewhat back in topic)
Yeah, at one part after I got through the Xvart village, one of those things has a scroll on it, which reads...
"Why does a chair have arms and legs like a man, yet can't move to pick things up"
... or something to that matter. Anyone ever get something like that? I cannot doubt it's some Red Herring of an item, though.

Uh oh.
I encountered a problem pick-pocketing Algernon for his cloak. My bard has 60 points in Pick Pockets by default, and he fails no matter what, whether he's not fatigued, invisible, etc.
I thought I had Imoen have that amount and SUCCEED at picking his pockets. Can anybody help?

Welcome to Game Banshee
I think you have to roll dice to succeed at pp, just as you have to roll to hit an opponent. That means you sometimes won't be succesful, with 60 in pp, and sometimes be succesful with only 40.

Well, my Bard just gained a level today, and to start, he got 5 more points in PP, his extra proficiency (which went into Large Sword for various swords I'll get later), and his first 2nd-level spell.
I get to Beregost and go into Feldepost's Inn, saving beforehand. Anyways, I go in there, give it a chance, and TRES BIEN! Got out of it unscathed with a nifty cloak!
Right now, the file's saved in High Hedge after selling a motherload of treasure. I'll look into seeing if he sells and Potions of Master Thievery later. Anyways, thanks for your help, guys.
*gives a curt bow as well, his beard sweeping the wet floor*
*groans* Just when I felt busy, I dedicate myself as the mop of the place!
