My turnoff: when a person can't live without talking about his or her ex through a single two-hour date. Oooh, that's aggravating.

I had been set up on a date that hadn't even started well, and then the loser kept bringing up how his girlfriend of three months had dumped him a week before. He woul not drop it, and by the end of the date I knew so much about this woman I could have called her family.

He left quite quickly after the surprising discovery

He was also very disappointed since the transsexual guy was actually very nice and extremly good looking, but my friend is totally straight, unfortunately in this situation.

Prior to meeting the love of my life (who is simply perfect in every way

). There used to be a few things that got under my skin...

Smokers, I can't stand them. The smell is unbearable and my friends know very well not to smoke around me. Can't stand the smell of nicotine, its a huge turnoff. I also don't have many male smoker friends and those who do smoke are wise enough to go outside or stay well away from me whilst smoking.

Shy people, some people are just so reclusive that I find it frustating to talk to them. I consider myself an extrovert person, I need to be for my type of job and I'll chat to anyone or do anything within reason. I've connected to a lot of shy people in the past, but its still a turnoff for me regardless.

The "prejudices and plain stupid", factor gets on my nerves too.

OMG, I actually got chatted up by this random guy in the biscuit aisle of the local supermarket once, and he started showing me photos of his kids... I mean, I was trying to be polite, but that was the last straw... take the trolley and run!!

First off, they have aisles devoted exclusively to biscuits?

But what if this guy (not that I'm saying I know anyone like this) were just perfectly happy talking with you, and exhibited no desire to get in your pants despite his ernest declarations of your charm and beauty?

@Georgi: I suppose it helps to define what I think is low class. For me, class is when you take pride in the way you look, and not presenting yourself to the world as a pseudo-hooker (these days, it's becoming harder and harder to tell if the girls are hookers, or teenagers. Oh well, either way, off to jail for me

). Also, excessive swearing I feel is low class, as well as extreme rudeness, or rudeness in general. Also, if they're idea of a great tasting meal involves fast food, low class. Does that clear it up any?

I do see what you mean, but I'm not sure low class is the best way to express it. I mean, as anyone who has ever seen a Richard Curtis movie knows, upper class toffs swear gratuitously.

Just out of curiousity, where do you draw the line between dressing sexy, and dressing like a hooker?

Modesty, I think, sums it up nicely. I think that when a woman flaunts everything she has, almost to the point of wearing clothes becoming an excercise in futility, it borders dangerously close to, if not on, the line of dressing as if she were trying to sell her body.

A bit of mystery is often (at least for me) more appealing then actually seeing. I don't think a woman should cover up every bit of her skin, but enough of it that she isn't mistaken for a hooker.
