I don't know about the XBOX version, but on the PC, there is something to keep in mind:

SAVE before every swoop race, and if you win, save again. Otherwise, reload and retry. Don't waste your money on repetitive attempts.

And, FYI, it isn't cheating when it's recommended by the LucasArts staff.
You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious!
