Yeah you swashbuckler would be the ultimate killing machine with that item. AC -24, low thac0, high damage, put scarlet ninja to in the off hand and have five attacks, many resistances... but it would be kind of cheesy... with this item you might even be able to defeat the bears cernd can summon
druid party
The shapeshifter rebalancing is what turns the ability into an item. Just so that you will be able to shift at will and a limited number of times. I think dispel magic means that you will have to equip it again but there was the same problem with normal shapeshifting. Yes ofcourse a thief with UAI can use it but no backstab, a regular thief has to be able to use an item to backstab with it.

You can't handle the truth!
You don't have to install the shapeshifter rebalancing to get the benefits. Just put the wwweregr.itm in your override folder and import in to the game. To make the shapeshifter just right, tone down the regeneration a bit and make it so it disables spellcasting. Then the druid is just right if you ask me.
About the UAI and the claw, yes it works but hey you might aswell import killsw01. I Equipped a level 40 swashbuckler with the claw in the offhand and crom in the main hand and then helms boots rings etc.
AC-24
Massive amount of HP's
negative saves
high resistance
thac0 < -10
5 attacks/round
super regeneration
plus all your thief abilities... sounds overly cheesy

Of course it's overly cheesy... If it weren't also hillarious (And trust me, watching a giant beast plant bear traps is funny), then the cheese would be the whole point. I don't plan on actually using it much (if at all), but knowing I could gives me a warm, happy feeling on the the inside, and you have no right to take it from me!
Seriously though, thanks for all the research Bruce, I appreciate it. You keep mentioning the uber bears. Just how powerful are they, and in what way? (like are they merely tanks, or are they slayer-esque machines of destruction?)

I cant remember exactly but I think tehy were called greater werebears and were kinda like the greater wolfwere, maybe even better. They regenerated like hell and hardly ever got killed. They came in pairs and had good immunities and solid attacks. Much too strong for such an early summon, druids get level 6 spells early remember. I think I had two of them take out firkraag by themselves, protection from fire cast on them as only buff.
