about that stinking thing,
ok maybe we walk around with our death dragon armor al the time (that Has to smell) Image

But we don't have to stay in those duffy rooms learning spells from some old rotten spellbook covert with dust.
Searching under every rock to find the right material to make those smelly potions.
And we don't have to tear apart all kinds of frogs, lizards and other insects to take there eyes for doing spells.

Never underestimate the element of surprise (i.e. backstab). Unpredictability is the mark of a thoughtful soldier, after all. Thieves and other rouges can handle themselves admirably. Hey, even Irencius was having problems with them. Image

Irenicus was over confident you can never underestimate your opponent. yeah Backstab would work if the mage isn't prepared but the suprise could be on you.

We are many. You are few.
Mages will always be overconfident because they trust their magic. It is an inherent flaw. You become enamoured in the power, growing more and more dependent upon the magic you feign to wield. We thieves trust nothing. We make our living bringing down more powerful foes than ourselves. We will continue to do so.
We are the darkness you claim to walk. We need no rest. Spells fade. We are patient. You are but an obstacle on the course.

I am not a member of the Shadow Guild, nor shall I be. I am free. I have my one agenda. Tread lightly. Watch the shadows. Use your accursed magic. It won't do you any good.

(Okay, I couldnt't help but spout off here and have some fun! Image )

Rail- us users of magic are not overconfident, we are simply proud of our power and dominance. unlike a lowly thief who shares the shadows with rodents and mildew. true, magic fades, but your youth, strength, and agility fade much faster. as time wears you down, we become stronger.

The overconfident never think they're overconfident. (Just look at your signature! Image )

The shadows and rodents don't invade the soul as quickly as The Corrupting Power you play with. Your "power" is easily removed by a dagger. Your "dominance" is in question.

Time is on my side. Where one mage falls, another will rise. Where one thief falls, many rise. You will learn the lesson that dragons and elves already know.

Spells fade quickly. Steel does not. Rest while you can. If you can. Your bright spells only create deeper shadows. One will be your death.

Ok I wanted a good backstaber and decided to try the assassin.
My problem with him was, even though he had that awesome backstab multiplier and poison, he did very few backstabs because of his high thac0. Is there any way to bring that to a decent level.

Also his description says he gets +1 bonuses on thac0 and damage, does he really?
I made an assassin and a pure thief and at the same levels they had the same thac0.
What went wrong there?

Gotta keep this Guild UP! So I'll post an old adage:
