like i've said in another post, i currently use a silver longsword :( so it takes me awhile to do any substantial damage to umbra... my longsword skill is level 72 and im level 11, is that good? i dont have any burden scrolls, or shield scrolls, nor do i have the cash to buy them. I think my easiest way to beat him would be to find some gold to buy some potions and/or find bulk quantities of standard-exclusive health potions. the only problem is, i dont know where to find quick gold or potions. Any help would be appreciated, my Screen name on aim is wopps76334, and my screen name on MSN is wopps76334@yahoo.com, please meesage me with tips if you have any.

:o phew...

He is very easy to beat with hand to hand combat - it may take awhile but its better than trading sword blows with the guy. My unarmored monk easily punched his lights out. Don't try this unless you have very good HTH skills. A more sleazy way to kill him is to levitate up onto the rocks and stuff him full of arrows or pummel him with spells. Another fun way to kill him is if you have very good acrobatic skills. Run at him and jump over him. It confuses him for a second in which time you can land a quick blow with a short sword or dagger. Retreat to a safe distance, and keep repeating this tactic. One of my most favorite ways to kill a superior opponent. Helps if you are unarmored or just use light armor.

When I have a difficult opponant attacking me with a sword axe or hammer, I just usually use an enchanted amulet that damages his strength and agility. A couple blows of that and he can barely hurt you, and when you hit him 40% of the time you can knock whoever to their knees

I HAVE THE BEST IDEA FOR UMBRA!!!! SEEING AS I CANT BEAT HIM ALONE, AND I HAVE NO MONEY TO GET ANYTHING THAT CAN HELP, I CAN GET HIM TO FOLLOW ME OFF THE CLIFF AND INTO SURAN, AND THE GUARDS WILL ATK HIM BECAUSE HES ATKING ME!!! IT WILL BE COMPLETE OWNING!!!!

p.s. let me know if this would work :)

that would take the roleplaying fun out of it. but it might work
though, considering he attacks you because you've agreed to fight him, the guards probably wont respond

I faced the same problem as you did, he is impossible to beat :D .
But i had the same idea as you get him into suran. But the guards dont atack him. But if you run up a stair to the door of a house you can jump up the roof. He will stay on the stairs while you are save on the roof. no you can hit him without him hitting you. that's the way I did it.

Wow, this is resurrecting an old thread, I don't even remember putting anything about Umbras Sword or this thread.

It is a pretty sweet weapon, though.
