There's another pair of boots of speed in the improved north forest area too. Available post-underdark only though obviously.

I just found that the priest you can accept into the Warrior stronghold sells Boots of the Fox which gives a speed boost and AC bonus. I have three NPCs who cook now. Does the regular boots of speed grant the fastest movement? I tried some races and the character who wore those always won. (Minsc. Maybe becuase he's a ranger??) I suppose I can check the movement bonus in SK.

Yes, they're part of tactics. Almost all improved xxxx encounters are out of tactics.

I'm fairly familiar with Tactics but I've not seen those boots. Spoil-me-do please.

I was thinking that the boots of the fox were added with a mod. Not sure how they showed up in the priest's inventory though. Maybe the Reign of virtue mod? That one seemed to add some random items throughout the game. Anyway, I got 'em and I'm happy.
