You just grind the beans coarsely, place in the bottom of the cafetiere, add very hot water (ideally filtered water), place plunging device on top, let brew between 3 and 5 minutes, and then plunge.

We do have Guatamalan here though ;) Personally I prefer Sumatran beans, but that is, of coarse, entirely subjective ;)

@Xandax, lol! :D And it's just not the sort of place where you would see cyber terminals either :p
Ahh, but all this talk about Latte's and Cappicino's and such... People have gotten into this Europeon craze of fancy coffee's! Go regular, black coffee! :D

You are, of course, all possible threats rolled into one extremely alluring package. :) Hence, my titillated trepidation. ;)

This why I've learned to sleep on my side. The cats are my wife's, and seem to see me as some sort of trampoline to get to her.... :rolleyes:

LMAO! :D And I seem to recall that one of my beasts (sharing your name lol!) took a particular liking to you, to the point you were forced to accommodate his attention seeking :D He is normally such a gentle and retiring soul :)

I think that Scayde's cat might be bigger than my two, though, but IIRC hers is a pedigree whilst mine are alley monsters!

Back on subject, cool bar, DW, I like my coffee black, and strong enough to stand your spoon up in! ;)

Y'know, I used to like my coffee very strong, but not so much anymore.... Is this old age? I'm just not fond of how bitter it can get at greater strengths.

@Aegis, hey I'm not inclined to argue, when it comes right down to it my favourite way to drink coffee is strong and black. However, given my addiction to the stuff I will sometimes decide to reduce the potency by having something like milk mixed into it. I can't stand basic milk, but I enjoy it frothed (though I often prefer vanilla soy milk over dairy, I think I might be somewhat lactose intolerant). Besides, variety can be fun :p

@Bloodthroe,
a chai latte for you :)

@Gwally, lol! :D
Actually, oddly enough our cats use my partner as a sort of trampoline to reach me :p For some strange reason he is always far more concerned about clipping their nails than I am :p
Regarding coffee, I have also noticed my body now has less tolerance *sigh* This is why I avoid drip coffee, it tends to be more bitter.

@Ysh, thanks ;) *serves up a strong, black coffee in an individual sized French press cafetiere. lol! Maybe you should post some pics up of your cats, numerous cat pics would somehow fit in this sort of a place... and it would make Gwally feel even more at home :D

Well I should try a press, just to see if it improves the flavor. Unfortunately, it sounds like so much work as compared to filling up the coffee machine and pressing the "on" button. I've even been known to set it up the night before and use the delay timer. Sure, I know that it is best to use fresh water rather than tepid, but laziness is a key factor for me. That, and the fact that if I make it the night before, it will brew for me early in the morning (since I am usually the first up) without me having to wake up the whole house to make the coffee (running water, opening cabinets, cleaning pots, etc.).

I am also aware that my taste is not very discriminating. I frequently use regular, pre-ground Folgers coffee, despite the fact that I own a grinder. When I bother, I prefer whole-bean Kona for my coffee, but I can barely taste the dif. I also know that I'm supposed to keep the coffee in the refrigerator for max freshness, but I don't.

So I'm not sure if the finer points to a French press wouldn't be lost on me...
:D

T' once showed me the picture of the flying sheep she took when you two were in Wales. The poor beast was undoubtedly trying to get away from Sleep! :D

hmm... I've never had any coffee before. ;) I doubt that I'll have coffee any time soon. But earl grey tea sounds good, though. And I usually try not to have caffine after 7 p.m, because I sometimes get insomnia. Yet tea definately sounds good.

Coffee is definitely an acquired taste. I think I was around 28 when I first tried it.

@werebeargoddess, a tea for you :) Earl Grey is actually my favourite tea, it is always feels just right IMO :cool:

Yeah, whenever I decide to have tea, it's always either Earl Gray or English Breakfast, which are both my favorite. I find that if I'm upset, and I have some tea, I calm down and relax. Tea does that to you.

Do you all put anything in your tea? Milk and sugar or maybe lemon and honey?

I know exactly what you mean. The nice thing about tea is that it is simultaneously soothing and invigorating. Unfortunately Earl Grey is the only black tea I can actually drink, in all other blends the tanic acid upsets my stomach, so I also drink lots of green tea.

Green tea is also very nice combined with peppermint tea :cool:

@Gwally,
I sometimes have lemon and/or honey with tea but never sugar or milk ;)

@Gwal, dragon

I'm afraid it doesn't compare with Chai Tea. :p

(or tea tea?)
