Well, in a Roleplaying kind of way i like Korgans personality yes, as i like to play evil in the games i play.
And I think there is noone i hate more in BG2 than Minsc actually, maybe Aerie then, although i couldnt bear to accept her in my party, so i dunno her personality well, just hated what isaw..

I've noticed sigurd doesn't seem to want to acknowledge other people's opinions.
We're all willing to let sigurd have his views but we're not allowed ours. That's fascism man.
Well. Lets ignore Minsc's spells shall we? Never mind the 15% reduction in damage he gets with Armour of Faith, or the 50% reduction in cold/fire damage with protection cold/fire, or his ability to impede spellcasting with summon insects. No, let a "real magicuser" do that.
Never mind berserk - its "dangerous" but its OK for Korgan to go berserk.
Lets ignore his 18/93 strength too. Why, there are plenty of girldes. No need to give those to wimpy characters with poor strength, give those to charcters who *already have* high strength.
Of course if you completely ignore a characters strengths, they will be cr*p.
Korgan without his strength? Constitution? Berserk? He's cr*p.
That's like saying Edwin is sh*t because if you took away his ability to cast spells...

You dont get some stuff, gruntboy.
Korgans rage can be controlled, while Minsc cant, thats the biggest thing.
There are enough girdles of strength for all your fighters, unless you play an all, fighting team.
Of course his strength helps, thats his strongest part, but there are other ways as well.
Magic, sure it helps, but a fighter shouldnt need magic, easier to have a support character cast it.
About oppinions, i say i disagree with your, maybe it works for you, but my posts hasnt been "empty", i stated why i though like i did, and did so again just now!

Minsc rocks!
His 18/93 STR allows you to make other characters skills more useful. give Jaheira a belt of Strength and this Fighter/Druid becomes a serious FIGHTER/Druid. Keldorn got the other Belt. I then had 3 kick ass fighters who hit easily & can carry a ton of stuff. That protected my cleric main character and the mages like Nalia & Imoen just fine. When I get Crom Faeyr I give keldoern the other STR belt found in the Elf city and give my cleric Crom Faeyr then to Minsc. Even before giving the hammer to Minsc his THACO was around -7. He will hit anything. His Dialogue is rel funny too - Especially when he considers buying the Planar sphere for 500GP cos its so big and therefore value for money. He's forgotten hes just been running around destroying it <chuckle>. And who can forget him in BG 1 shouting "Full Plate & Packing Steel"

Exactly, you're not just stating your opinion, your dismissing all others and re-stating yours in an attempt to have the last word and drown out all dissent.
So I'll just state mine again.
Just 'cos Minsc winged you once? I find I can control his berserk just as easily as anyone elses. I've been on the receiving end of Korgan more than once.
Why shouldn't minsc cast spells? No one can cast armour of faith on him. Is enrage not a kind of spell? By your rationale, why should korgan need it then?
You keep missing the point about strength girdles. Minsc is strong enough. Giving him a girdle wastes Minsc's strength and the girdles. Give the girdle to someone who has lower stregth - the increase will therefore be a much bigger gain.
EDIT - read Steve's post for how to use strength girdles efficiently.

Ok, we know our oppinions, they are different, but our own, but one thing i didnt get with your last note was, you stated that Korgan has attacked you enraged?
But Korgan is under your FULL control enraged, while Minsc will do whatever he wants while enraged.

Yep, Korgan went medieval on my @$$ with his axes, are you sure enraged gives full control - maybe it was the AI?

My opinion is that I simply cannot imagine my party without Minsc. He was always in my parties in BG1 (the same thing about Jaheira).
I know that somebody doesn't like Boo or Minsc himself - simply don't join him to your party. With proper items he is awesome fighter. I know that he is not ideal, but which NPC is ideal in this case ?

Can't say I ever had Korgan turn on me while Enraged, and I've had him in 3 out of 4 parties, now (2 of the 3 played through to the end). On the other hand, I have had Minsc turn on me while Berserking.

Gruntboy has good some very good points, I've noticed the same thing in sigurd, too. Don't know if we've misunderstood him, but still. I think I have nothing to add to these posts you guys have posted. Oh, one more thing: I think that Minsc's uncontrollability just adds depth to the game, in roleplaying-sense. I mean, how can one control himself, if he goes berserk? I don't know. At least I can't

Well, personally i think that one likes a character no matter how good or bad they are, but cause of their personality.
I must say i cant think my party without Edwin, even if he should be poor(which he is not).
But in my oppinion i always hated Minsc, ever since BG1, and it became worse in BG2, cant take his ultragood style, as well as his disgusting relationship with the rat.
Also i dont think he is a very good character compared to the other fighters, but i think it all comes down to personality in the end, and again, this is my oppinion.

I could agree with you in case of Edwin (I like his dialogues in BG2). But without all these interactions he was very annoying in BG1 (

I always killed him in Naskhell

)
He is 3rd on my list of favourite characters (1st PC, 2nd Jaheira, 3rd Edwin, 4th Jan Jansen 5th Minsc&Boo)
