Yes we should try and keep this topic spaming free (like all the others) it is a very "spamable" topic but I am sure that we can Manage to keep it at a "Professional level"
My next little project is to take on a two person party with a sorc. and a thief that happen to be my two favourit classes.
how do you think that this will work out
-strength
-weaknesses (if any it's not like we are talking about the Woodpecker classes here

LOL...
It would be a perfect two characters party. Thief can do the trap finding/disarming and a lot of killing, especially if supported by a sorcerer (you can memorize improved haste i.e.). Tactics would be different depending on which thief kit you choose (or plain thief).
The only cons are dialogues....but we can survive without them...
Let me know which kind of thief you plan to play and which spells to memorize.....

Here's the first question: when dual class??
Is it better having higher assassin abilities and lower mages spells (with ToB coming out soon), or the opposite?? I think it's better waiting for higher lvl assassin abilities.
The trick is maintaining balance between the two classes. The assassin/mage prototype I made not long ago was dueled at the twelfth level. However I can see how one would prefer to have waited a bit longer in order to aquire increased assassin abilities(especially now with ToB and it's 40 lvl exp cap coming soon)

@Edwin
@all members
My thief will have to be an assassin for that huge X7 backstab and poison, not the greatest chest opener but the sorc. will have the knock spell so that the assassin can consentrat his few (15) thiefskills on something else.
the sorc. the way I planed:
1st level spells
-Magic Missile (you know why)
-Chromatic Orb (it gets much better almost disintegrate-like)
-Protection From Petrification (elder orbs, traps and powerful mages)
2th level spells
-knock (to give the assassin better things to spend skills on)
-Invisibility (to help out my little stealthy friend in close combat)
-web (planing on using with a spider combination)
3th level spells
-Fireball (good area damage!)
-Melf's Minute Meteors (effecinet and fun at the same time)
-Haste (in a bit of doubt since I get the boots of speed early and a second par coming up later in the game)
-flame arrow (a good alternative to magic missile since this baby does more damage with time)
4th level spells
-Wizard Eye (this is my little baby I think it is the best spell in the entire game the uses of it are many!)
-Stoneskin (a woman has to look out for one self..and the same for a man)
-Spider Spawn (for the web)
-Improved Invisibility (to be keept invisible)
5th level spells
-Animate Dead (one of the best summonigs, great agains mindflayers)
-Breach (to penetrate mage def.)
-Lower Resistance (obvious reason to lower resistance)
-perhaps spell immunity but I see no GREATER use for it)
6th level spell
-Conjure Fire Elemental (really good fighters and there +4 punches comes in handy)
-Death Spell (cool name and kills multible tagets)
-Disintegrate (just to get that "get out of my face attitude, easy kill)
-Pierce Magic (break down mage protection)
7th level spells
-Finger of Death (with breach and lower rec. most will fall to the finger of death also dragons)
-Mordenkainen's Sword (good back-up fighters)
-Spell Sequencer perhaps not sure of this it's big brother comes in the 8th level
8th level spells
-Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wilting (for big damage!)
-Simulacrum (tree minds work better than one)
but just an idea with the spells now nothing is for sure.
how will this work out!

Hello Kayless.
@Garcia:good pick the lvl 2 invisibiliy.
I agree with your choice exept:
haste (you explained why....
)
spell immunity is a must have IMO. All the powerful mages cast mainly conjurer spell vs you.....so have protection from abiuration and it's done.....

I think someone has been getting into the sacramental wine
Maybe the League is just jealous of our combined power
(even individually our guilds were both more prosperous then the Brotherhood of the Woods) I guess The_Pope is trying to consolidate his power by declaring a crusade
So let's fight back by having the most mind-blowing and informative discussions ever!

Kayless, you're our resource of proverbs....
Moreover, The Pope can't do anything else than a crusade.......
We are having good discussions here, see Garcia post i.e.
We are second to no-one.
Keep the good discussion alive......
We must find a common line as sig. for all the members....suggestions Kayless....

Well, i find that the puny worms that all thieves are just showed how WEAK they are, as they need mages to accomplish anything.. Pathetic!
As for mages, they are just a bunch of old fools with staves..

hmm may i just ad that Edwin started about a alliance and i agreed so i don't think u can see the thieves need help from the mages (no offence Edwin
)
WHAT i think is pathetic is that u need the help from all the paladins rangers priests and druids to get into competition with us

Oh.. you can be almost sure that fighters are not allowed in our guild (no barbarians, Kensais, ordinal fighters etc).
Only Druids, Clerics, Paladins, Rangers (and dual/multiclasses with them) are allowed.
