@sigurd : I agree that Priest of Bhaal is not very good idea but I've killed several priests of Cyric both in BG1 and BG2, so from logical point of view one could make kit of such a priest.

And something about Talasians : Neutral priest of Helm has one advantage over other kits : He cannot be affected by : Holy smite, unholy word, holy word, unholy blight - so I could use holy word as many times (max 3) as possible when Thalasians could use only other spells - that is the reason why neutral alignment is the most convenient (in Underdark drows like to cast unholy blight - only neutal persons didn't suffer from this spell). So this is the point for priests of Helm&Druids.

People, no arguing, except with other guilds.

@Robin_Hood: That was just a matter of speech to make sure you don't forge an alliance with rivals. You may do whataver you wish to them, as long as you don't befriend them. Image

I've decided to start new game with human paladin or elf ranger(pure) protagonist. I don't know which one is more interesting. Could you advise me ?

"When words are wasted, violence takes over!"

There is no point writing pointless points about the shadow mages, people will just take offence. They, indeed, are taking this far mor seriously than i could ever imagine, they write e-mails to eachothers, and call our members names, kinda stupid actually, but i suppose when your arguments run out...

I still say thieves and mages have NOTHING at all in common, while clerics and mages do.
Not that i would want to see any mages in this guild, but it is a fact.

Well, there is but one way to settle this, and that is to wait for the duelsystem to be working, i cant wait to crush a couple of thieves..

So, now i post a note that use this board as it is supposed to be used, discussing tactics.

Have 2 questions.

What are the best defenses for a cleric that needs to defend against
a) Insect plaque, creeping doom
b) hide in shadow/backstab?

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh, i'll join you guys, only because i dislike thieves, and i have played a game with a dwarven cleric so i'll join. I wish there was a fighter only group, but this will be good enough. So hello. My trusty warhammer will crack a mage kneecaps, and knock the thieves unconcious. Then i'll bring forth my pit fiend and lead my terror against the wimps. Muwahahaha

Aquahockey is a game you play underwater (surprise!). You use somethin like an icehockey puck and use a bat about 15cm long to flick the puck into a goal. There are few clubs around, I'm in Britain but America, France etc have clubs aswell, maybe you should try it. btw you need fins (the rubber type not fish) and a facemask and snorkel. The club should give you that.

Yes you have to use a really heavy puck. It needs to sit on the bottom of the pool. There are clubs in Holland as there is a national team. Try searching for local clubs on the net. You should find at least one.

Good Luck!!

ATTN The_Pope:

Seeing as the Shadow Mages Have their own message ending maybe we should have one to?

How about:

Death To The Unbelievers! You Will Surely Fall To My Blade For Your Lack Of Faith!!

(It sounds a little cack but it's just a suggestion. You will probably think of something better!)

Sorry I posted 3 in a row but I wanted to start a discussion.

Personally I think that a Cavalier is the best Paladin in conjunction with a decent archer (Kivan in BG1 comes to my mind if he was there) Who do y'all think is the best type of Paladin?

Posted: Sat Apr 07, 2001 1:35 pm
by The_Pope
@Nippy: I'll think about that.

Best paladin is inquisitor IMO. I'm not really a paladin fanatic, but if I'd have to choose one, it would be the inquisitor.
Priest spells aren't really important, and paladins suck at turning undead.
Losing Lay on Hands is worth gaining Dispel Magic and True Sight, very much as a matter of fact. Immunity to Charm and Hold makes them "Flayer Slayers".

In times of peace you could have contracted me to draft your slogan. It was I who created the catch phrases for both the Shadow Guild and the Shadow Mages (seen below). What they lack in brevity they make up for in eloquence. (or at least I like to think so. Your opinion may vary, and probably does Image) In any event, good luck with whatever slogan you come up with! (though I'll come up with a better one in preparation for eventual peace Image)

Cheers Kayless,

I'd be interested to read it.

What is going on? We seem to have a distinct lack of members posting!

btw Nippy is hardly a decent name for a follower of gods! Any ideas for a different decent name (it's only my school nickname!!)
