Go up the stairs, don't move an inch, have people charge at you, go back down the stairs. They follow, you bash, no need to deal with the traps. You can even summon stuff before going up the stairs; they'll be there when you go back down again.

Be welcome to GameBanshee, Xyx
Being an Evil Overlord seems to be a good career choice. It pays well, there are all sorts of perks and you can set your own hours. However every Evil Overlord I've read about in books or seen in movies invariably gets overthrown and destroyed in the end. I've noticed that no matter whether they are barbarian lords, deranged wizards, mad scientists or alien invaders, they always seem to make the same basic mistakes every single time. Therefore, if I ever happen to become an Evil Overlord, ...

A Katana is an sword made in the Orient, specifically Japan, and was used by the Smauri, usualy with a Wakisazhi to back it up. These blades were made with incredable skill, and would take a lot of punishment before it needed to repair. Aside from the quality, and craftmenship, it was the same as a common broadsword in Europe, minus a few physical difference. The Katana had a slight curve in the blade, and was made as a slashing weapon, not a weapon to impale people on, as the broadsword was made for. Both blade could cut through the same material with the same ease, so the Katana in BG2 is a misrepresentation of what it should be.

@iT B. ME: The original post that started this thread, which has now been edited, asked - "where is it?" that's why people have said where it is...
May you walk on warrrrm sannd....
It was used for battle as well, but the Katana was more publicizedOriginally posted by Blastaz:
I always thought a broadsword was also a slashing weapon, and that European smiths hadn't got round to subtle things like stabing until the rapier. Also wasn't Wakashi a cermonial sword and not used in combat but just to comit sepuka with?
No it is just a "Far to powerfull one" and i would sayOriginally posted by Aegis:
@Curdis: I agree with your statment, somewhat, about Celestial Fury. To me, those blades in the game are incredably over powered, and uber cheese. I don't consider it a sword myself, just because I feel it is not an accurate representation of the type of "sword" it should be.

The thing about katana is that becuase it was single edged, you could make it longer....see, a double edged sword has a diamond cross section, and to make it stong enough to use in combat you need to add more meteal per ince of blade to make it resistant to snapping in battle, usually a bad thing...but a katana with a single edged blade can be longer but stronger for the same amount of metal, because of the triangular shape. also the classical layer forged katana actually uses different metals to make up its composition, the spine of the sword is made of milder less carbon steel, with a greater resistance to breaking due to its toughness, while the edge and sides were made of higher carbon, much more brittle sttel, with ability to take on a very sharp edge.
finally, the curved shape is based on a principle...if you slice someone open with a curved sword, it does not get stuck to the bones as much, whereas if you slice someone with a staight blade you do get it stuck more often, why do you think calavary sabres are all curved? if you get your sword stuck ona person or horse in a calvary charge you're dead..
best way to kill off the slaver lords...
for the demon use aerie and triple bolt of glory sequenced if you do this after underdark, other wise just hit with as many holy smites and bolts of glory as you got, this will take it doen to nothing and easy to kill.
for the lords upstairs...
Chaos!!! multiple chaos spells do it every time!!!
