Two things that are missed.
1. One important bonus is Dwarfs and Halflings receive a bonus to saves vs. Magic & Poison based on Con. With a con of 18 (or 19) this adds +5. Very handy early game when you have mediocre saves.
2. This is a little nitpicky, but you receive the HP bonus for every level you roll for hitpoints. Mages have 10 levels of dice before going linear, so they receive the bonus for 10 levels.
I haven't noticed the regeneration. I will have to try that. I do remember it from PnP though.
The PnP version had several other uses for CON, but they can't squeze everything into a video game. The same goes for other stats as well, like the WIS bonuses & the high INT being immune to certain levels of illusions.

There has got to be something I am missing here otherwise nobody would bother using items that raise constitution. I mean a belt used only for making you go more without getting fatigued??? Sounds like a incredible amount of waste to me.
in a battle it will give u that little boost of hitpoints so u dont die
The regeneration for a high constitution starts at 20 and improves as your constitution goes up. For instance, I remember having a dwarven fighter/cleric with a constitution of 25 and the ring of gaxx. He regenerated 9 hp/rd.
I think maybe something else was going on with this character. For one, the high Con regeneration is 1/hour at Con 20, and increases by 1 for every point above 20 to 6/hour at 25.
Also, regen rates don't stack in the game *except* when the regen rates are the same. If you had a ring of regeneration (1 hp / 6 secs) and a ring of gaxx (1 hp / 3 sec) on at the same time you would regenerate 1 hp every 3 secs. If, for some reason, you had 2 rings of gaxx on
you would regenerate 2hp every three seconds.

Hmmm, that's cool, so if you had 2 rings of regeneration then (which would be legit
) you would regenerate at 2hp / 6 secs then? Is that right?

I suppose that's from the manual? The game doesn't always match up ... with a little SK help, I tried it myself and got the following rates (based on resting for 8 hours):
20 - 5/hr
21 - 6/hr
22 - 7.5/hr
23 - 10/hr
24 - 15/hr
25 - 30/hr
[Edit] Also note that the Ring of Gaxx and Ring of Regeneration do stack for me

IIRC 6 realtime seconds is equivalent to a round in the game. Therefore the Ring of Gaxx regens 2hp per round. In the game one real minute is equivalent to 1 game hour, so 30hp/hour = 1hp every 2 seconds. Therefore it is the equivalent of wearing a ring of Regen and a ring of Gaxx.

I don't know how rounds vs hours work, but a Ring of Regen will heal around 20.5hp/hr, and the ring of Gaxx around 41.5/hr.
So that would make a 25 CON the equivalent of 1hp/4s.

Hmm, guess I should have tested it before spouting my mouth off. The figures I gave came from the AD&D game, and since I noticed a character with 20 Con regenerating very slowly, I just figured that was it. I should have thought that the game isn't always a clear mirror of the AD&D rules.
And that's funny, two rings of regen don't seem to stack for me?
I've never tried 2 rings of Gaxx. Furthermore, I haven't really tested if natural regen stacks with a ring. It might be worth a look.

The stacking might be a result of a mod I have installed (ease-of-use?) that allows stacking rings of protection with armor ... it's possible it's enabling stacking regeneration as well.
[Edit] Oh, and yes natural regen stacks with rings ... but again that could be because of the mod
