I also *really* hate the escort missions... They might be a bit more interesting if the various NPCs in question had something interesting to say but like most of the NPCs in the game they have about as much personality as a limp noodle...
We're getting to it. ;) :D

any quest with a TIME LIMIT. the one of sloshteim where you have 5 hours to get a report to the bad guy for falco but he randomizes his position.

Writ

You're resume for the Morag Tong is amazing, but i must ask you something....first ravel to Hla Oad (IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE) then go south on a road (in pitch black with who knows WHAT OUT THERE) run into a stronghold (evil weird people) called Calheran or Kageran or Hlarehan or w/e then go directly south once you get to the coast...and then go to a deserted Daedric Ruin called Ashemaieldhdasdfafafdafasfasfphialia and ask Mares Vaereli to stop supporting the Dark Brotherhood or we will wage war on then Dagon Cultists....i was like, "DUDE, YOU ARE THE HEAD OF THE GREATEST, MOST HONORED ASSASSIN'S GUILD, AND YOU'RE ASKING ME TO DO YOUR DIRTY WORK, STOP BEING A B*TCH AND DO IT YOURSELF, GOD I KNOW I AM GOOD, DO IT YOUR DAMN SELF." that doesn't go over too well....

oh this is my FAVORITE

i need you to travel across the globe to Gnaar Mok and then travel through some lava, west for about a day, get attacked by Guar and weird ass bugs and sh*t then go and find this massive Daedric Shrine, rid it of all the evil cultists, Vampires, Dagoth Ur, Sixth House supporters and bring me back......a..........magic ring....wow.....i wanted to kill so badly...
...I hated the Tribunal quests, just going down into the sewers, period. Always got lost; was afraid to Recall out in fear of losing my place in the quest. Plus I had a packrat so if I did Recall out he'd get left behind.
Suggestion: when in sewers, if you need a break, first use mark spell, then Divine or Almsivi Intervention to get you away. When you are ready to continue, come back to the sewers with recall. I don't know if packrat is still there though, I never used them myself.

I also hate escort missions. Mostly for the same reasons - escorted people get left behind, they get stuck in places, like a rock or a river, so you have to go and lead them away like they were dogs on a leach. And why there are so many people out in the wild who need to be escorted, how did they get there in the first place, and how do they survive there without escort? Logical would be that they would be in towns, asking to be escorted from there.

However...
I also hate escorting people, because I (--) hold my own against a stinking worm, but they can't. So I have to babysit them, and while I'm babysitting them, they decide to kill me with a spell or an axe or anything they can get their grubby little hands on... ::takes a deep breath:: I used to enjoy the companionship, when I was like, level 5. But now it's just a nuisance.
That's why it's called escort - if those people could hold on their own why would they need escort? And if they attack you, it is propably due to you first attacking them (by mistake?).

People who can't fend for themselves shouldn't travel through the wilderness. :p And no, I didn't attack them by accident, they just have bad aim. And, sometimes, they are morons and run in-between the said foe and I while I am swinging my sword. And they get stuck everywhere, like everyone else has mentioned. I just hate helping stupid people in that game.

I hate any mission where you are given bad directions to some random place and spend hours running around the whole island looking for it.

I normaly dont mind escort missions. For a couple of reasons. 1) if the person can defend them selves *bonus* then u dont have to "babysit". 2)If there speed is like mine *bonus* then u dont have to "babysit". 3) If there directions can be understood *bonus* then u dont have to "babysit".

But there are reasons i cant stand the missions. 1) losey pay. 2) they can try and screw you out of payment. 3) THEY CANT DEFEND THEM SELVES. 4) THEY CANT KEEP UP. 5) YOU CANT UNDERSTAND WHERE THE **** THEY WANT TO GO!! you know i can normaly run from ebonheart to balmora it not that hard but when some one wants to go to gnaar mok and ur near dragon fel or the place most northern on the x box game then u cant just make them stay there teleport to the town and mark it and go back to them and use a recall on target can u? if u can then its alot easier.

and has anyone thought of useing a levitate spell on them and levitating to the place?

I hate all escort missions cuz the people can never defend themselves! They wouldn't need escorting if they had a good weapon! But hate the missions from Aengoth The Jeweller(theif). His missions are hard as hell!I went to jail twice!
It doesn't matter if you look like an idiot as long as you do it right.
