In response to the question of the Chaotic Good character, a CG player doesn't necessarily place himself before everyone else. He is loyal bound to his friends, and if it means to sacrifice a part of his life to bring back a friend, a CG character will do that. If it means to sacrifice his own life though, that's a different scenario.
