What, now I have to write messages of some substance to post them?!?[/QUOTE]
What can I say? I was running late.
My dear, if that was truly so, no one could EVER post on SYM!
6) Do do do, Da da da - The Police
7) Falling Off the Edge of the World - Black Sabbath
8) Still Life - Iron Maiden
9) Samhain Set - Maggie Sansone
10) Classical: A piece written for multiple harpsichords (4) by Bach. The radio host never mentioned the work's name, but it's one of the most exquisitely textured, beautifully layered and dynamic compositions I have ever heard (perhaps fable or CE might know the title of this work).

JS? JC? CPE?
CPE Bach wrote a Harpsichord Quartet in A Minor.
AFAIK JS Bach didn't write any harpsichord quartets, but I could very easily be wrong.
True, I was just complaining (and thus extending my post) that my post had to be longer than ten characters. Quantity, if not quality of substance.

Uh, well, although I doubt that anybody here knows any of it, my incomplete list:
1) Atmosphere - Trying to find a balance ( I could have written this song - perhaps not with the same content, but surly with the same emotions which are the result of similar incidents, I feel)
2) Atmosphere - God Loves Ugly ( "I live life like the captain of a sinking ship" and "Oh mum, I promise, I'm gonna be large, someday I'ma stop to borrow your car, gonna go far with charisma and skill until they put my face on the million dollar bill" are all I want to say to that song)
3) Atmosphere - Lovelife ( Insignificance? That's what I think about when I listen to this song. And well, sometimes what I think of when I think about my life)
4) Unknown Prophets and Slug from Atmosphere - Never ( ...and no matter what, I never say never)
Well, other songs that come into my mind right now are either German or Polish.

My guess is CPE. There's a great radio station here in Austin utterly devoted to broadcasting classical music, free of annoying morning shows. It's privately supported by companies in the area. Public radio too often gets on my nerves, so I listen to this station on the way to work in the mornings.
Quality is a subjective concept. In this case, there is no question to me that quantity = quality, since it is possible to write thousands of words that mean absolutely nothing. On SYM, this equals greatness. Why, look at some of the novels out there. Heh, look at my posts!

No, you're right. JS Bach didn't spend much time on the relatively new genre of chamber music for three or more instruments, which was only getting its first boost at that time from his French contemporary, Rameau. Similarly, the idea of middleclass burghers playing chamber music in well-bred homes didn't catch on for at least another generation. WF, CPE, JC and JCF Bach all wrote for combinations well-trained amateurs, in music of great sophistication.
10) Classical: A piece written for multiple harpsichords (4) by Bach.
Several Bachs wrote the very occasional piece for two harpsichords, and CPE, clever fellow that he was, wrote a Concerto for Harpsichord and FortePiano, the ancestor of the modern piano. But if it was four harpsichords, my guess is you're looking at a modern arrangement. The harpsichord was considered a solo instrument, or an accompaniment to groups of other instruments. Four harpsichords together would have been at best an intellectual puzzle to the baroque--how to make it all sound intelligible. Pleasure would never have entered into the picture.
