I agree. It's all part of the fun of taking your chances in an imaginary world. IMO, it's a shame there's no way to keep your party from effectively saving before using a wish (or the machine). Just my POV.Underdog writes:
What do you want.....the ability to wish your party invulnerable? To me it's all part of role-playing as opposed to just trying to "beat the game". You make your wish and take your chances and deal with the outcome, good or bad.
What does Wish do?

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

In fact i think Wish is awesome. Not only in spell reproduction(from RPG to CPUgame), but is also incredible powerfull. Since even in low levels of TOB my sorcerer have a scrol of Timestop and Wish. Why?
Using a project image:
Wish was a casting time of 9. So I use Timestop to give time for the wish scroll, Improved Alacrity and some other spells.
Here is the great cheese:
If you have the option- Two lengh Timestop with Improved Alacrity- in your Wish spell, that is so dificult(because you can cast lots of Wish in combat), then The most amzing combo is in your hand. Don't no why(maybe some Bioware error), but there is a diference beetween the Improved Alacrity from the Wish spell and the Improved Alacrity you get form mage/sorcerer special ability:
From Wish- Set all the time casting to 0.
From special ability- Set the time beetween two spells to 0.
So if use the both Alacrity during an Timestop(it is not that dificult to make this, you only need that wish option) you can cast your full Grimory in 0 second, IT MEANS 50 SPELLS IN 0 SECONDS. With you are playing an Cleric/Mage than the same affect the Clerics spells, so you can cast probably 120 spells in 0 second(including 8 Dooms,...).
It is amazing. The most supreme combat combo, and I use it lots of times.
That is why I say: An Idiot can never beat a Brainer.
