you can resize images using paint shop pro. its a really good paint program

Welcome back!
It isnt hard to resize with paing.
- First cut the picture you want to have as an avatar out of a larger one.
- Paste this into a new screen (make sure the picture exactly fits the frame so that there is no white around it.)
- press crtl+e (i have the dutch version of windows, so i dont know what that menu is called)
- devide 75 by the biggest number there. (75 is the maximum avatar size here)
- x 100
- press ctrl-w
- stretch by the percentage that you just got out of the small calculation you did.

I attached a small sample for you.
I hope this helps a little.

As for paint shop pro... I think Painter IX or Photoshop is better...Freehand too
