Right. Off to join House Hlaalu then. I think I can do that here in Belmora, I noticed that some people say "Welcome to Belmora, seat of House Hlaalu" when I chat with them.

And thence to whacking the Telvanni! Now I know that they are slavers, I don't feel so bad about the quest Fire-Eyes at the Fighter's guild gave me (kill the three Telvanni agents).

Cheers all,
TGHO

About the scrolls, get acrobactics to 100 then use them, dont hurt you a bit.

I like the way you put the progress of your character, seems like a very fun thing to do, I might try it.

Unfortunatly, the Hlaalu are also very corrupt, selfish, and trade-minded. The best choice for a noble paladin like you would be Redoran, because they are noble and believe in the virtues of faith, honor and compassion. They are also anti-slavery.

Well.. i was going to say same thing as Moltovir.. lot earlier.. but why i didn't say that was becuse you will learn from your mistakes.. well Hlaalu was my first great house but after that one time i didn't play Hlaalu anymore..

but anyway.. If you like roleplaying you could try to make Hlaalu Better.. even that it is unpossible without CS

Argh, really? I've joined House Hlaalu, but I am yet to complete any quests for them. The first quest they gave me (the woman in Balmora) was to steal some recipies from an alchemist in Vivic.

When Zarustha pointed out that stealing was wrong, she got told do do the dratted quest anyway.

So, can I quit House Hlaalu and join House Redoran instead? I'd much rather join a House which upheld the law and followed the core tenets of nobility.

Cheers,

Nope unfortunatly you are stuck with Hlalu. You can get kicked out, but you still can't join another great house.

Hlaalu does have a lot of corruption, but stealing from the other houses is IMO acceptable. Hlaalu quests also deal with promoting literacy, ending slavery, etc.. and if you do the quest correctly (spoiler:check with crasius curio before doing any evil sounding of fishy) you can clean up some of the corruption. Also, Hlaalu is the most tolerant to Outlanders.

As for most tolerant.. taht is very untrue... Seriusly in Vvardenfel only your skills matter.. and as for ''outlander'' thing well it is lot easier to create some way to call player X than to make some people say palyers name. Perhaps Morrowind NPC's just hear that you are outlander from your way to speak. But developers are lazy. Or does anyone else have reason why everyone in Vvardenfel knows that you are outlander.

It says somewhere in the game that they can tell by the manner of speach, also if you aren't Dunmer you are automatically outlander, even if you were born in Vvardenfell.

Well I've dropped House Hlaalu and joined House Redoran. Yes, I used the console commands - I don't feel guilty as I hadn't done any quests for House Hlaalu. If I had had an earlier save from before I joined Hlaalu, I would have reverted to that - unfortunately not however.

I will keep the "Expelled" tag on my House Hlaalu status and pretty much avoid them from now on!

When I play another character I'll try Hlaalu then. Someone who is a little good, little evil. :)

Cheers all,

I'm interested in how this character fares in Morrowind. It's not easy to take the high road, so to speak.

I'll keep posting her progress mate. To be honest, I have not enjoyed an RPG this much in years. :) :) :)

Zarustha has turned down several quests already, as they were either "go here and steal this" or "kill this person". I'm very happy I found Persuis (? I think that's his name) in the Fighter's Guild in Aul'Ruhn, and he told me about Toad-Tongue. I was thinking that I really didn't want to kill that guy without some really good evidence.

The first Hlaalu quest certainly made her pause. Steal something? From a (mostly) honest merchant? No! Whereas the Redoran first quest - kill some mudcrabs attacking herds - is much more her style. Protect the innocent and purge the guilty. Well, make them see the error of their ways, anway, and repent! :)

Cheers,
TGHO

Are you a member of any other factions? YOu might like Temple, Imperial Cult, or Imperial Legion.

Yep, I've joined Fighters Guild, Mage Guild, Temple and Imperial Cult. I want to join the Imperial Legion, but they tell me to go to a certain Fort and talk with a particular Captain, I don't know where that is as yet. I'll get there eventually.

I've turned down joining the Thieves Guild, even though I don't like the Cammora (sp?) Tong at all. Whilst the Cammora Tong is bad, the Thieves are just as bad, and both of them need to Learn The Error of Their Ways. :) And don't even think about the Morag Tong - licensed killing??!?! Very bad! :)

Cheers,

Hehe.. You're in the Cult and the Temple? Blasphemer! :D I think you will be very interested in those Fighter's guild missions.. The Legion is fun IMO. I am a KNight of the IMperial Dragon in it. That's the highest rank. There's also the East Empire Company in Solstheim, you probably aren't ready for that place yet though.. But those quests give you the option of good or evil.

Yo Hairy, I feel I have to arrest you on one of your comments. Please do not compare the Cammona Tong with the Thieves' Guild. Cammona Tong are vicious and cruel, while the thieves' guild consists of people who simply feel it is their right to help the rich nobles ease their burdens, so to speak. There is much good in the thieves' guild, and once you climb in rank you will turn into Robin Hood himself. Don't knack what you don't know! :-)

Anyway, I'm enjoying this thread. It's great to get to see the game through a beginner's eyes again!

You really, really should consider House Telvanni. So what if they're a little bit bloodthirsty, suspicious of others, and power-mad? They're also dedicated, scholarly, individualistic, and the last word in environmental friendly folk! Their quests are challenging, but the rewards are excellent. :)
