Is there any real reason for installing travel mods?
I don't think so. However, travelling back and forth from all those questgivers can get old real fast. But then again, that's why there are spells like Mark en Recall.

After my last post in this thread (concerning the Pegas ranch mod) I travelled to Vos and made my way to the ranch. I have to tell you, this is one of the nicest, most original, detailed and thought-out mods I've ever used! It's not just that you can buy a horse that let's you travel faster, but there's a truck load of new things to do. I can really recommend this one.

That pretty much says it. It's one thing to walk back and forth in the early stages of the game. It's another to do when you've logged thirty or fifty hours in the game, and added on many quest mods that mean retraversing the old paths. "Say, isn't this road deeper than when I passed this way about five months back...? Lots of busine...oh, wait. Those are my tracks. And my tracks. And those, those are--my tracks. And..."

Hee hee hee "my tracks" everywhere. :)

I might check out that Pegas ranch mod, it sounds pretty cool. I've downloaded the Multi-Mark mod, and tried to install it, but it seemed to conflict with another mod I had installed - kept getting script errors when I loaded the game. So I've not got it installed at the moment.

The Pegas Ranch mod is really, really cool, by far one of the best I've installed!
It does not necessarily make you travel that much faster (well, unless maybe you manage to breed an uber horse and find the master horse trainer... ;) ), but it is just a lot of fun. In addition to riding the horses, setting up a breeding programme is a blast. And the horses themselves are just beautiful, truly gorgeous work!

Ah, nostrils! TESMods.net is down. :( No Pegasus Horse Ranch 2.1 mod available for downloading there. Have to wait until they are back up.

Well, the file is not too huge, 4669 kb, so I could send it along to you if you want to check it out now. But if not, Tes should be back up within 24 hours or so.

If you're okay with emailing it to the.great.hairy@gmail.com that would be great! Thanks. :)

TESmods may be down for some time. The site has proved too popular, and the admins are looking for options to expand it.

I'm not surprised, they are one of the better mod sites out there. I hope the admins find a solution.

@The Great Hairy,
you're welcome :D

I'm sure they will. The site has proven too popular to leave down for long. In the meantime, Morrowind Summit and TheLys are still up. And some modders are deliberately bumping old ES forum threads with links to newer versions of their mods.

By the way, there's a new mod collection called Wrye World. Some strange stuff, such as a piece of storage luggage that follows you around; but there's also a set of 33 portal orbs to take you all over Vvardenfell.

Luggage?? Does it have a hundred legs, huge teeth and washes you unmentionables for you?? :D :D Now that would be the coolest! You could stash your treasure in there, and the thieves would get eaten...

Cheers!

Sorry for being off topic here, but I suspect he is referring to the Discworld series written by Terry Pratchett. There is a 'character' in there called "The Luggage," which fits the above description :D
Worth getting your hands on if you can, one of the more entertaining parodies I've ever read :D You can find more information here: http://www.terrypratchettbooks.com/

It's an older concept than that. Pratchett doesn't invent anything; and in this case, I remember a piece of fantasy humor which was popular back in the 1960s, featuring a mage with a piece of luggage that moved on its own.

But the Wrye World really does feature this as something in a MW mod. I don't believe it has any legs, because no new meshes are involved, and no animation. From what little the modder says of it, the item simply appears in certain shops, especially taverns, whenever you show up.

@Eggy
Go read them! Hilariously funny. And a good read. There are 27 available right now, with 28 to 35 coming out over the next few years.

@fable
Are you talking about Jack Vance? He had a series where a mage had that luggage, I think.

@RebelousDarkElf
Ha hahahahahaa! :p Bad luck then. And we just like tormenting you with our mod-errific PC versions. ;)
