How about a mage, cleric, thief, and 3 fighters?

To Vehemence:
Imagine a race that have superior thieving skills (mainly to gain possisions of others without others noticing that is until they pipe up and say something like "hey look what I found back there!!") They are said to be immune to fear and have great curiosity of many things in life. In Krynn Tassolhof Burfoot is the most well known Kender. If you read some of the Margaret weis & Tracey Hickman dragonlance series you will see how they interact. Kenders also tend to have excellent luck, so they could be the turning point for a party who is in desperate situation. One other thing is that they are known to be able to pick almost any lock so prisons would not hold them for long.
If you played Tob they might have some of the humurous and innocent qualities like Cespernar the imp.

Kender are from the world of Krynn (Dragonlance) and exist in place of halflings. Remember the Knights of Solamnia you encountered in the Planar Sphere? They were from Krynn.
Kender are generally an innocent, playful, larcenous lot who are immune to fear and play hell upon that world's inhabitants. If you have never heard of kender, go to you nearest bookstore and get The Dragonlance Chronicles and The Dragonlance Legends. After those two trilogies, the Dragonlance franchise got real bad, real fast, but until the Dark Elf Trilogy, Dragonlance was the benchmark of all AD&D fiction.
Here's how a party of Kender (plus Fizban!) would work:
Murdak Punjifoot: I hit him with my Hoopak of Doom +5!
Girella Trapspringer IV: Hey, where did these forks come from? And how did I get another saltshaker?
Jungobar Bunyontoe: Duck, that mage is casting a spell!
Dur "Rectal Stress" Onionbite: I don't think fireball works without bat guano . . .which somehow fell into my pocket . . .
Fizaban the Fabulous (aka Babysitter): (flipping through a tattered spellbook) I'll show them . . . web . . . no that's not it . . . sallyforth, polymorph . . . Hey, you flea-bitten sorry excuse for a mount! What did you do with my good spellbook? (gold dragon snorts and mousse-coloured hat falls over his eyes) Blinded by the gods . . . again!
Lefty Snarebait: Excuse me, Mr. Supreme Anti-Paladin of Death, what happens if, um, the johnson-rod and, say, this lynchpin "fell out" of your ACME Siege Engine Deluxe V6 SE because, well, I saw them lying on the ground and tried to put them back in and now it's making a funny noise and blowing green smoke . . .

My current 'fun' multi-player party...
PC - 1/2 Orc Fighter (19,18,19,10,12,11)
Specialized in Axe and single weapon style
1/2 Elf Druid (Totemic)(10,18,18,10,18,15)
Quarterstaff and two-handed weapon style
Halfling Thief (Assassin)(10,19,18,10,10,10)
Short sword/Sling single weapon style
Gnome Mage (Illusionist, of course)sling/dart(10,18,18,19,10,10)
Imoen
Currently in the Asylum.
Great fun (although very difficult in some of the sub-quests) and I (sometimes) miss some of the regular NPC's comments.

you guys left out the best part of playing a kender.
the taunting.
kender are the masters of hurling insults and their total lack of fear lends thier commentary a harsh dose of the brutal truth...
