I agree with Fable's first post, this sounds like an aggressive act. Could be that she just wanted to cuddle up a little in a friendly way and got angry because you immediately took the opportunity. Could be that she wanted something with you when she cuddled up there at the movies, but then she didn't want to take responsibility for this, and put the blame on you very publically. I don't know where you live, but remember that the general Western female gender stereotype is that women are always "serious" if they want physical contact and/or sex, or if they are not serious, they are sluts. These old puritan christian gender roles still affect most people also in modern society, especially in North America and Southern Europe. So when she cuddled up to you and you took things further, she might have felt "Oh no, now he thinks I'm serious" or "Oh no, now he thinks I'm a slut", and her aggressive verbal statement in front of everybody, was a defense against the roles she may have thought you put her in.

I have one or two close female freinds that aren't my gf that I give a cuddle when I see them, I have no wish nor intention to sleep with them it's just beacause I'm a bloke who likes to have a hug, hence why I have cats and a gf too.
Anyway whats done is done, if she aint interested in you that way then there's nothing you can do about it. Take a mental step back from the teenage hormone cyclone that is your body and just be a freind.
Failing that get her drunk and then claim she took advantage of you the next day.
