Obviously your views on this are going to be affected by your experiences during the first game; I myself always played with Jaheira, Minsc and Imoen in my party.

:p

Imoen is a must, since she is my sister.

Jaheira & Minsc - depends on whether I am good or evil :D

Actually, you have a lot of fun when your evil party (Viconia, Edwin & Korgan) have someone nice like Imoen in their company :D

I always want Imoen and Jaheira in my party... I dont really know why I do, because afer spell hold, your need for a ½ theif ½ mage is really limited and Jaheira never really becomes a fighter that can hold her own.
But for my next run of BG2, im gonna start a group of holy fok's.. the group would be:

me --> Paladin
Keldorn
Mazzy Fenton
Anomen
Ariel

thats is about as "good" as they come. It will be a group of holy butt kicking for all evil.... if I can stand Anomen and Ariel for that long..... I will most likely start missing having Viconia after about 5 min with Anomen.

The trouble with me feeling obligated to take Imoen, Jaheira and Minsc along with me into ToB is the simple matter that I didn't have them with me in BG1, so I'm damn sure not gonna take their sorry buts now! :D

My original BG1 party consisted of:

Me: Can't remember very first time... though I think I was a fighter. More often than not, I went for the thief. Loved that backstab :)
Xan: Loved that guy! The moonblade... *happy sigh*
Edwin: Now theres a mage you feel obligated to take with you! :D
Coran: Truly the best fighter/thief ever.
Kivan: He was a great ranger. Better than Minsc and Boo.
Yeslick: One awesome dwarf with truly awesome cleric abilities.

And the only one who made the transition from BG1 to Bg2 that I wanted was Edwin.

Due to my obvious grievance, I set about post haste on making my old team. Low and behold, I recreated them just as they were in BG1. Strolling through BG2 with none other than Xan, Edwin, Coran, Kivan and Yeslick was a tear jerking moment to say the least.

I'm now stumbling through Saradush with none other than the guys who were there from the beginning and now know, THIS IS HOW IT WAS MEANT TO BE PLAYED!!! :D Well, for me anyway! :D :p

Did you create them as a multiplayer game or what?

:p

Yep. Don't know any other way to get them in.

In game dialogue was at a minimum, but hey, it's the old team! :D

LOL! Well..., If you're good, then this statement kinda makes me laugh. "Don't be too hard on 'im"?!? :D  He killed you're "father", tried a number of times to kill you, tried to start a war that would send the entire sword coast into a bloodbath just in the hopes that it would propell him into godhood to lord over the murderers and killers of the world! Don't be too hard on him?!? You can't go too easy on him if you tried. Let him rot in agony for what he did. Does it matter how good a fighter he was? He's dead. The world is better off!

Of course, that's just if you're good! :D

Actually, even when I'm good I take him along.

If you talk to him through your adventure and convince him that good always beats evil, his alignment will change to Chaotic Good. He actually tells you not to take the godhood at the end. I liked that :)
