well the only ones that I have found are the weidu mods.. ease of use, bonus merchants and then there is Icewind Gate that turns IWD2 into BG2 adventure. Then there are few minor ones that alter exp gained and improved initiative and little things like that. There are surprisingly few mods for IWD2. BG2 has much more and cooler things for it. But then again this adventure is so linear that I don't know how it could be altered so that there would be anything more in roleplay point of view. ease of use and bonus merchants are the only ones that I use (and I don't use all the cheesy stuff from ease of use, just the practical).

Well, I think my copy of IWD2 is going to stay on the shelf some more then. I had high hopes when I bought it, even though I knew it wasn't going to be a masterpiece.

try out the new JUPP party (actually there are 3). You'll get a lot of fun out of those. I did.. and I will. I have finished the game only once so there's still a lot of replay walue for me. But if you have done it many times I believe it's not so ground shaking experience anymore (like BG2 for me). But I think I'm still going to play BG2 a few times over in the future. And yes I'm going to try the Icewind Gate mod next. You should try it out and tell us what it's all about and is it playable ;) have fun.

Uh... I'm no newbie, so I know what JUPP is, of course... but could you explain what JUPP stands for? Just for people who don't know. :o

Well if you would just look at the JUPP guide the first line in it says "Jukka's Ultimate Powergaming Party (JUPP)" and Jukka is a finnish name.
I don't know wich of the parties is best. There are 2 melee and 1 arcane party. I have only finished the game with melee party option 2:
Deep Gnome Rogue(1)/ Monk of the Old Order(1)/ Dreadmaster of Bane(28)
Deep Gnome Fighter(4)/ Paladin of Helm(3)/ Rogue(3)/ Illusionist(20)
female Drow Druid(14)/ Stormlord of Talos(16)
Drow Bard(11)/ Sorcerer(19)
It has been very easy. In the final battle I got hit only a few times. Now I'm at the Ice Temple in HoF and things are getting a little bit harder. Now I have to cast most buffs to get forward easily :) But I'm still having fun. I'm playing the arcane party at the same time when I'm in the mood. I'm in the Black Raven Monastery (in normal mode) and it's a bit harder cause there was no way to finish even the first chamber in the eight chambers. So I slaughtered all the monks without a problem :D I'm betting that the arcane party will eventually be more powerful than the melee cause they have so much massdestruction spells with them. But they are both sooo much fun. I made the first option of the melee party too but I found the second option better. But the guide says that the first optional melee party was made so that the two first characters should be able to finish the game by theirselves. I made the "Untouchable Duo" with my friend and were playing a lan game so that both have one character.. great fun. Try everything out. IWD2 will still have a lot playing walue left ;)

my protaganists hav never really fitted in with powergaming. I luv druids since im a treehugger, and ranged-specialised rangers are kl. i always wanted to do a Paladin of Mystra. Wud be very kl. other characters are ok but i cant really find a way to identify with them. *sigh* if only i cud think of a gd storyline

well I'm sort of a powergamer cause I started my RPG career with Diablo2 and on the HC world it was nessessary to build as strong character that was possible or you had to start all over again. So now that I got into BG, IWD and NWN I was appealed to do as strong party as possible and fit the roleplay in that. I like it. My kind of playing. So everyone can do it their own way. But it's good to try the other path too. I have tried the roleplay perspective and it was good too.
