You really did do a wonderful job on the voicing. Its distinctive, likeable, and yet still blends in well with the rest of the Bioware voicing. And, as we've all been saying, you, jcompton, Bons, Blue and company did a tremendous job with the Keto mod. She's not only an exceptional mod NPC, she's one of the strongest BG NPCs period, in my estimate. It's truly a treat to play. I, and I'm sure many others, anxiously await the ToB edition.

A strong "so mote it be" to that. :)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

This thread is supposed to be about romances, but I too will say that Keto is the best NPC mod I've ever played. I think she's even better than some of the original Bioware NPCs when it comes to characterization and voice acting. Some people prefer overpowered characters, but Keto's fear of adventuring and her ability to be amazed by what she encounters (for instance, when your party meets the avatar of the forgotten god Amaunator) are very charming.

I just took a look at Saerileth. I'm still in Chapter Two, so I'm sure there's still a long way to go in the mod, but right now I have mixed feelings about it. I'll accept the fact that she was chosen to be a servant of Tyr when she was five years old. I'll accept the fact that there must be very rigorous training programs in Mount Celestia. And I'll accept the fact that a fifteen-year-old girl can fall in love with a man who is a few years older than she is. There are obvious references to Romeo and Juliet, a timeless classic in which another young girl is involved in one of the most famous love affairs of all time. When I was sixteen, I dated a 19-year-old guy, and I didn't feel like a child. I had also been studying martial arts for over four years (although I never would have dreamed of being a Paladin). And does anyone remember the girl in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon? I didn't hear many complaints about her (it was such a cool kung fu movie, after all). Given the fact that characters in RPGs tend to be the very best examples of humankind (who make commoners like us pale in comparison), I think I can accept the things that make Saerileth so extraordinary--her youth, her service to her god, her prowess in combat, and her love for a 20-year-old "godchild".

My only complaint about the mod so far (other than the quality of the sound recording and compression, which must be a very difficult process) is that the dialogue seems a bit disjointed, and I can't understand why my character should fall in love with her before he knows anything about her. Even Romeo and Juliet did a lot of flirting and courting before they made pronouncements of love. I suppose I can believe in love at first sight, but I find it hard to believe that two people can see each other for the very first time, exclaim, "Where have you been all my life?" and embrace each other with a passionate kiss, even if they both have 18 Charisma. I would think that any 20-year-old guy (at least the kind I play) who had been hunted by foreign assassins ever since he left home would be wary of a creature who had the form of a beautiful 15-year-old girl and said she was on a mission from another plane on direct orders from her god to find him. (I'm reminded of the song The Lady Lies by Genesis.) I guess I'm just cynical or maybe just practical, but I'd like to see more motivation to trust her and return her love. I don't expect a mod to be as good as Romeo and Juliet (hardly anyone can write like Shakespeare, and there's only so much you can do in a CRPG), but I think the pattern of getting to know each other and falling in love was more natural in the Bioware romances.
While we are on the subject, DW, how do you regard the voice sets from both Tsujatha and Yasraena? I downloaded and tried Yasraena some time ago, but I was quickly put off by her voicing. It just didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the BG voices, so I uninstalled her as fast as I downloaded it. No disrespect to the rest of the mod, because from the few dialogs that I experienced, I saw the quality was pretty good. However, I'm hoping Keto and Saerileth will not have such abnormal voice sets...
I don't know if you've already tried those mods for yourself, so here's my opinion.

Keto sounds just like a Bioware NPC when it comes to recording quality, volume level, and voicing. (Although, on a scale from Minsc's "Go for the eyes, Boo!" to Aerie's, "I...I don't like the looks of this," Keto is off the scale, as in, "Can we get out of here??" So I guess that sets her apart from the Bioware NPCs.) :)

Yasreana's voicing is, quite frankly, unpleasant to listen to. I don't find fault with the voice acting; I'm talking about the quality of the sound recording. I don't know what could be done to improve it. It's too loud, for one thing, and it's not crisp.

I'm afraid that you might have a similar complaint about Saerileth; however, she does have better sound quality than Yasreana, mainly because Saerileth's voice isn't as loud as Yasreana's. I wish it were better, but I can live it with it. So maybe you won't find it to be too distracting in your game. So far, I enjoy the mod, and I wouldn't remove it from my computer regardless of the sound quality.
