About the Tuigan/Gesen combo.....

Wielding both, but using the Gesen bow, you get the extra attack from the Tuigan bow?

I don't think so. Wouldn't that mean that a Pala could wield Carso/Purifier/Crom and get 70-80% magic res and 25 str? ^^

Wow, you sure could make up some insane combos if that was possible ^^

Even if you could it wouldn't matter. You only get the abilities of the weapon you're wielding. Else you could make a Fighter and equip him with Belm, The Equalizer, The Flail of Ages, CF and Crom. Forget the Kensai-mage combo, a pure class fighter is way stronger!

Well, just having the weapons equiped give you the spellcasting habilities on the equipment menu. But yes, not the bonuses.

Hehehe, otherwise I'd have the Tuigan bow and the Carsormyr equiped, and the three extra atack per round will really kick enemies around.

But constant invis, prot from evil, dispell on every strike, always counts as +5 when determing what it can hit and +2 ac bonus isn't something to overlook. ;)

I believe he's saying that Staff of Magic is better/equal than your (impossible) weapons combo (CF, Flail of Ages, Belm, Equalizer, etc.).

But I may be wrong :D

Well, he said that a pure fighter would be better than a kensai/mage in case the weapons special abilities applied even if you had it equipped but didn't use it... And I just wasn't sure that that's correct as you only can use the staff of the magi when you're a mage, and it has some of the best abilities in the whole game... If you use the staff correctly, that is.

And if you use the path that correctly assingns the protection. AFAIK, protection from evil happens only visually, not really.

Firetooth is a great crossbow, it's handy to have the infinite ammo and the fire damage for finishing off trolls. I have had a couple games where I got it early and had Haer Dalis sniping with it constantly, it was very nice. The big problem is the attacks per round though, it is very slow - that might be Haer Dalis, he has that problem in general. Firetooth is excellent as a support weapon since it reliably hits almost every shot, but I don't know about using it as the main deal.

Actually, why not? What's the worst that could happen, right? I say go for it and maybe stash the light crossbow of speed (extra attack) from the Copper Coronet too, try them out against each other and see which one works better. I do like the infinite ammo - the Gesen Bow, btw, hits well but does crap damage.

Well now, H'D has the number of attacks a Bard of his given level should have - he's even better off than Bards in general thanks to the Aggressive Spin.

Can you use the Blade's special stance and spin abilities with a ranged weapon equipped?

Offensive and Defensive Spin work very well with ranged weapon. I don't recommend ranged weapons in melee though (- 4 penalty to AC), where you would normally use the Defensive Spin. Still, what with the AC bonus you may find it acceptable...
