What advantages has the trap if you are a bounty hunter if your level 5.

Hold your horses man, I'm at work and had to pinch a loaf.

Dolt - idiot.

Read my post. BountyH gets 20% skils *per level*. New character gets +15% (Yes there's the 15) to set traps to *begin with*.

1-11th level special traps casue more damage and slow the opponents (no save).

Had too much orange jucie with E numbers in this morning?? I think calling me a b*stard was a bit uncalled for.

It irritates me how underestimated assasin's are. Probably because assasin's description doesn't say everything. Increased backstabb-multiplier (x7) is very useful. Also, poison does damage much similar to insect plague, making it the best mage disruption weapon (after insect plague of course). Finally, when weapon is coated in poison it isn't the next attack that does poison damage, weapon does poison damage for certain amount of time. I don't know how long for sure but I would guess about 15-20 seconds.

My assasin uses cutthroat +4 for backstabbing and tuigan bow +1 for all else. Tuigan bow gives nice +1 attack which is very useful for fighting mages.

I coat my weapon in poison and start firing poison arrows, giving mages 100% casting failure. Even save vs death doesn't help, poison still lasts enough for next arrow to hit. Some people say it can also slow a target but I can't confirm this.

Penalties? What penalties? (ok, bad cliche). "Only" 15% is a joke. Already in character creation you are able to maximize the most important skills (detect traps & open locks). In my opinion assasin by no doubt the most useful thief-class.

That is your opion but what is that increased backstab multiplier I never saw that one. I mean 7 times. Three steps for killing a mage.
Step One: Find a mage
Step Two: Hide in shadows
Step Three: Backstab.
Then for all you looters out there loot him.
But I just don't like assassin's because of that 15% thing. That is MHO

However, in defense of assassins (which just sounds funny, BTW), their poison works for half damage with save. This means that, even though the target make the save, they still are affected and unable to cast spells. Not to shabby!

I'm awake! (just thought I'd mention it since somebody asked for me).

If I had been awake Carrot wouldn't have had to ask what a dolt was either. Image

Point taken about assassins. Still, when you dual at 5 you need all the skill points you can get.

Did not know that about the backstab and save for poison. Good against mages but I find there are so many creatures that poison doens't work against.

Anybody else dualled in BG1???!!! Anyone?

Carrot: Other thieves' backstabb multiplier limits in lvl 13 to 5, assasins continue to x7 at lvl 19. Backstabbing is useful against any humanoid, agreed, but even in the early game mages they cast true sight when any of your party members hide in the shadows.

Gruntboy: Yeah, assasins are not very good to dual because most of the pros are gained at higher lvls.

I played my game through with a kensai (me), an assasin and a sorcerer. Extra mage disruption had very much use. In most fights kensai slaughtered 6-7 enemy fighters while assasin took care of the few mages.

I've rushed through the game (unwittingly) but not finished. I decided to redo BG1 with just the right character for importing into BG2 (that was last week completely up the spout).

I'll take my time when I play it this time.

I work in a hospital carrot. The night manager was Raimana, I think, down under.

Just what do you do in the hospital Gruntboy . I need answers.
As for Siike every thief is albe to be fast enough to kill the mage before they cast true sight.

Jesus! You're almost as nosey as me. Image

Lets see. It is now 2pm here. I was missing for 1 1/2 hours. What do you think I was doing. (Hell, I should've been 45 mins but that's what large lunches are for).

I'm modernising a cancer unit's software/hardware. I have my own office that I can hide in and post on this board. Image

Where are all the dual-classers?
