Hey

Haven't played the game for a while, just begun again and I have a few question regarding your choice of weapons, if you will permit it. :)

Sunchuuko (or whatever it's called) - I remember having it once with some char and I seem to recall it was quite potent. Forgot where to get it, though... Any help?

Celestial Fury - Isn't it a +3 weapon? How do you get it to +5? What ingredients do I need for that?

:::EDIT:::

Sorry about the off-topic.

From Tactic's readme:
Kuroisan, a Kensai / Wu Jen from Kara-Tur will eventually approach you if
you are carrying (and wielding) Celestial Fury or Malakar. He is obsessed
with Katanas and will try to take yours. He wields Sunchuuko.

Celestial Fury +5 is part of the item upgrade mod... Cromwell forges it for:

Celestial Fury
Demon Heart
Wand of Lightning
20,000 Gold
archer/mage
anti paladin/thief
cleric ranger multi
sorc

that's all you need. sure, the sorc is going to be weak, but he/she will level up as fast as single class mage, and will provide major firepower later...

you might toss in cleric mage multi and berserker cleric just for grins. :p

frankly, i prefer to use store bought npcs...

aerie
jan
keldorner/
jaheira
korgan

are the powergamer npcs. :p
User (haven't seen you for a while :) ): I don't know why you choose Keldorn. He sucks. True Seeing and summoning planetar as special abilities is all I see that is valuable for an inquisitor. Big deal that he can wield the holy avenger.A fighter/thief dual classed Sarevok can wield it too with even higher weapon proficiency.

Korgan disappoints me as well. All he has is the berserker rage. And don't forget, he gets in a fight with Aerie and one of them has to leave.

WHY HAVE YOU FORGOT THE HAMSTER WARRIOR: MINSK?
fighter special ability fortifications + 3 * shield of faith--->informidable warrior, kicks korgan's ass.

If not because of Aerie's cheesy cleric 7th level spell/contingency combination, I'd gladly like her out of the power game team list too. :D Rather, EDWIN, is THE BEST npc mage in the game-- has more spell slots than a sor.

If you choose your spells with care, a sorc with good stats will outpower even Edwin - although Edwin is one of your more powerful npc's.
The same is true for Keldorn and especially Korgan. Korgan is a fighter with good stats and don't forget, he has great resistances as well. Mix that with his rage ability and he's quite unstoppable.
I like Minsc very much, but he's not as powerful as Keldorn or Korgan.

Which stats do you have in mind? I can't think of any that make any difference besides Dexterity (better natural Armor Class) and Charisma. Edwin has Constitution 16, and a Sorcerer can't do any better than that (16 gives Mages maximum hit points). Am I missing something?

A high WIS to help with the wish spells, I would guess.

Fact is, a sorcerer can PWN this game with very low stats.

Right, Right ;)
I never said Edwin is more powerful than a sorc. A sorc can launch ANY combination of spells that he knows. And needless to say, that is far superior to having only 2 extra spell slots.

Has anyone ever tried hacking a sorc into a regular mage using SK? Try it, you'll discover that your new mage will have 6*5 spell slots (which is the number of spells known and the number of spells cast)!!

Doesn't Edwin get more spells in total than a sorc? The manual states that a mage can learn 4 lvl9 spells, which will be increased to 7 in Edwin's case. And a sorc just get 5-6, doesn't he?

Anyway, I just got a bit angry by reading "And needless to say, that is far superior to having only 2 extra spell slots.", as 2 extra spells slots (3, since he's a spec. mage) is NOT something that deserves to be called "only".

That, together with the fact that he can learn so many more spells than a sorc, surely makes him one of the strongest and best characters you'll ever meet. Now, I'm not saying that a sorc with the right combo of spells cannot be stronger, but being able to not having to memorize spells in advance will never be "FAR SUPERIOR" to having "ONLY" two extra spell slots. Especially since the number of spells the sorc knows isn't that great.

And we all know pretty much what's needed before every fight. Not to a 100%, but pretty much.
