Spoiler

actually, anyone can turn the undead bhaal priests in the temple ruins where a woman tell you how to kill Yaga-Shura, or any demi-lich?</STRONG>

yes........

SPOILER!

WHEN the fake gorion attacks, he brings a whole ****load of hasted undead creatures. If it wasn't for the turn undead, i would've had an extremely hard time with it.

basically, all the mists, vampire mists, etc, just ran their ass away, or got on my side, while i concentrated on the master wraith. after that, i killed the mists :)

About turning paladins with evil clerics:

My PC is level 20 or so, and Viconia contantly "turns" him. (There's really no effect, as I already controls him)
Viconia is level 25 or there about.

Turning undead is all about levels. Low level clerics won't be nearly as effective as high level ones. Once you get those levels, those anti-undead spells are pretty useless because of the potency of Turn Undead.

Anomen obliterated the entire undead contents of the Temple of Bhaal in ToB, save the Master Wraith in a matter of seconds. The undead assassin, mage, cleric, etc. all blew up the moment he walked into the room, and the master wraith was no match once his help was vaporized. Just wipe off the body parts and stroll up to temple.

Likewise, the entire dungeon in the ruined temple was summarily blown to itty-bitty bits by Anomen, save for a handful of shadows that don't appear to be classified as undead - the giant skeletons were blowing up nicely, yet these few shadows wouldn't (the ones that appear after you take the first sunstone inside the temple, not from the talking head).

Vampires were a problem early on and spells like False Dawn and Sunray are useful, but once Anomen was well experienced from the trip to Spellhold and through the underdark, I'm pretty sure he could spank Bohdi without breaking a sweat. Chunky bits of vampires were flying all over. Of course, this was with the exp cap of ToB, and he had special abilities (so did the rest of us...it just wasn't pretty, Bohdi and Co were nothing more than speedbumps on the road to spank Irenicus.)

I know liches can be turned, but what about demi-liches? Even if its just the "fear" part, which in effect nullifies the imprisonment ability allowing you to take them out with ranged weapons.

I had Amoen turn one of the liches in Kangaxx-quest and it didn't kill him, but he ran away (wich was good, my party was caught in a TimeStop spell) - and then the lich just stood and tried running into the wall, and was hacked to bits. I think Amoen was around lvl. 15 at that time.

I have not tried it against Kangaxx.
