i think i'll just post some of my favorite possible titles for the next book:
-Harry Potter and the child actors inevitable mental breakdown
-Harry Potter and the other two kids that can't act
-Harry Potter and the wet dream
-Harry Potter and the child actors inevitable mental breakdown
-Harry Potter and the other two kids that can't act
-Harry Potter and the wet dream
She's got a smile that, it seems to me, reminds me of childhood memories, where everything is as fresh as the bright blue sky.

Since this thread is soooooo spoiler rich anyway I hope nobody minds me suggesting that R.A.B. could be Regulus Black (as I'm sure the more astute of you may have guess already), Sirius's brother, who was a Death-eater but eventually got on the wrong side of Voldemort.
Also, I've heard it suggested that Harry himself is a Horcrux, explaining why Voldemort doesn't want anyone else to kill him. It also gives an idea of how Harry can speak Parseltongue. It may have been an accident whilst he was trying to kill him.
EDIT: I should add that this could be an interesting twist as it would mean Harry would have to sacrifice himself to kill Voldemort

Wasn't Angulus or Avery his middle name or something?

Oh yeah I meant the 6th, sorry
@Oopah: you are right, Voldie not dying may be a bit awkward ending, but somehow I cannot imagine the whole dark story end like Harry and Ginny walking away hand in hand, kissing in the sunset... It's just not JKR-like, imho...

Could be! I don't remember ever reading Regulus' middle name though, but since everybody has more than two names in this book (except for Hermione, maybe ) yup, it can be Regulus. I can't think of anybody else, actually.
[quote="Ruscavo]Also"]
It is SO LIKELY! Voldie transferred a part of him into Harry with that curse! That's why he can speak Parseltongue, etc...
It even fits the Prophecy, b/c it says that one will kill the other, but it doesn't say any of them will survive...

what i think is that book 6 have very lousy story...
dd dies!! the most powerful wizard in the world is helpless infront of school kid.. very hard to believe. in book 5, he duels with 3 people, minister, umbridge, and dawlish and in end he captures many death eaters etc but in this book he gets caught in trying to protect harry, thats pretty wild to accept. yes i give that much that dd was weak after the adventure but still malfoy was just a kid.
one thing more, every person that harry knows is pretty fool to be sure that snape is a good guy, and only harry, a 16 yr old is smart enough to see through all and detect something fishy is going on in the school and that malfoy and snape are some how involve in this. its just means that every one is idiot and what reason dd gives in the end for trusting snape is very lousy.. i admit that one do forgives but a complete trust is impossible for someone who has liked dark arts from his very youth and became death eater. its very suspicious that as soon as voldie gets busted, snape has a change of his hearts.
the list goes on and i well say, i was disappointed a bit in book 6. lets hope book 7 gets better.

He also didn't have his wand and had a bust up hand but apart from that, yeah he should have kicked Malfoy's butt! Aside from that though he didn't want to attack Malfoy, he was trying to talk him round (and nearly succeeding but then the others turned up).

And I still think Snape is a good guy. He had to kill DD, he'd made an unbreakable vow and DD knew it. When Snape appears DD says "please severus". I think he sacrifices himself as he knew there was no other way to escape (wandless vs 4 death-eaters!!! He's good but not that good) and it would also allow Snape to get close to Voldemort.
These are just my thoughts and I may be looking too deeply into it but I'll reserve my judgement til the 7th book. I did think this book was alittle long winded and not very well written anyway.

Remember from the first book when Quirrel didn't need a wand to perform magic, he could use his hands? Doesn't that mean Dumbledore should have too?(wandless vs 4 death-eaters!!! He's good but not that good)

For me, the "definition" of magic is something that you can learn by masters and lore, by education and skills, though not something that a lot of people can learn - something that requires dedication, something special, not used for all the little things in everyday life. Magic comes from inside you and flows out of your finger tips, and not through a wand. Words should be needed, though they don't nescecarily have to be spoken out loud (muttering, or even silent spells are permitted too). It's okay to wield a staff for your spells, perhaps to support your spell, but it shouldn't be used as a gun for every spell, so that you just take care of the ammo.
I never liked that about Harry Potter, these wands. Also these cloaks and those idiotic pointy hats: right. In the books, I soon forgot about them, and didn't really minded them much, but in the movies, you see them all the time, so it's hard to take it the way magic gets used there very serious, as it adds a certain cult status to it. That's why I'm not really a fan of the movies. (haven't seen no. 3 though)

I'd be much more interested in this series if it was more like Dragonlance, or the Sword of Truth series. Unfortunately, it is not even remotely close. I agree with Theamazingoompah. This isn't what I think magic is. Considering that wands were made by mugicians with cheesy tricks.

Why are we arguing over something that is completely fictional and completely depends on their authors' imagination?
The evil nature of GameBanshee revealed below!
GameBanshee sells Xandax to make ends meet
Then, as if that was not enough, they decide to get rid of me via sweepstakes as well

I guess because this thread is based around out opinions on how Rowling made this book, and if this influences in any way if she is going to make another one after 7.

OK OK my turn.
Its not a bad book but not a good either. See, little Potty, who was once considered a prodigy, could do amost nothing really "spectacular" as he once did, even though the dead person was essencial to the plot.
My bet is that Draco is a werewolf in the last chapter.
And that Snape will be killed by Voldy.
Now Potty's romance with Ginny is... weird. That is really weird. It comes out of nowhere. Goes nowhere. And all of a sudden he is with her. I dunno.
This book was better than the previous, at least.

Flesh to stone ain't permanent, it seems.
There are way too many spoilers in this message thread. The title refers to a very specific issue, but we're getting into a lot of other issues as well. Perhaps we should move this discussion to this other message thread, where people will expect a detailed discussion of Book 6 and all sorts of spoilers.
I was really ticked off at CNN for reporting that a certain character might die and naming that character in their report. (A gambling pool in England was shut down when it appeared that some of the gamblers might have had inside information.) I saw the name without any warning, and I couldn't put it out of my mind while I was reading the book.
Of course, a lot of people like to know exactly what will happen before they read a book (like Harry Potter) or see a movie (like Revenge of the Sith). Why else do people speculate about the next book or download screenplays from the internet? But I'm not one of them.

I felt the same way. You can read my comments about the book in this other message thread. Aegis disagreed with me on that particular point (so he probably disagrees with you, too).
