Yes, that's fine for a kensai.

I think you need some more dex.Cha isn`t as important in my opinion.Because you are a kensai then you can`t wear any armor and when you dual class then you can only wear robes.Bracers of dex 18 and also not allowed.

Its only 15 because of ring of human influence :) i only made it 15

Reduce it to 7 and you will still have 18 with the ring and 18 dex aswell :D

Cha is better than Dex in this case. The thing with fighter/mages or bards are that they can buff themselves invulnerable with spells instead of having low AC. Stoneskin, Mirror Image, Fire Shield, Globes, Prot. from magical weapon, you name it. AC is not necessary. Besides, -4 won't help you so much anyway.

If anything, his WIS could be higher to cheese out the wish spells, but I'd go with what he has. CHA is always usefull.

You're good at asking questions, not equally good at answering or reading people's posts. :P

Are you soloing? And yes, 9 is a good level to dual class at. Mostly for SoA purposes though. If you're going ToB (and especially alone), I wouldn't wanna be the one to miss out on another half APR.

lol, ok but by soloing do you mean if I am going without a party?

Um, no... a dualled kensai/mage is one of the easiest characters to solo the game with, apart from a dualled/multiclassed fighter(kensai)/thief of any kind. You'll gain levels so very fast!

What about if I am like fighting mages and warriors at the same time, and my dpell protections wear out. I might not have enough time to cast them again or before the mages or warriors screw me over

Berethor, please put all your questions in one post, instead of posting successively. Also, if you have questions about specific topics like soloing, you should try using the Advanced Search function on this forum. It's been discussed extensively before, and we'd rather not have all that information repeated, here.

Almost every spell I mentioned are instacast and can therefore be recasted once each 6th second. You'll have time. And you'll (holefpully)(terrible misspell of hopefully^^ ;) be high enough level to whipe them out. As said, you can solo the game with a fighter/thief, and they don't use a single protection spell once. (Kangaxx might be an exception though...)

Well I completed the dual class and my guy is awesome, but how does stoneskin work exactly, sometimes i get hit once and its gone. why does that happenÉ

by Ravager
Stoneskin should grow in power with your mage levels. It doesn't absorb damage just attacks (though you won't be damaged by those attacks).

Perhaps you don't have enough mage levels for it to be truly powerful yet, or your enemy is disrupting the spell by Breaching or Dispelling it in some manner.

ok so that clears up some stuff...thanks

but i would still be limited to mage weapons only even once i had hit lvl 10 right? (no way of using kensai weapons as mage).

can i wear bracers as a mage in this case?

I'll try to be clear enough :

Kensai (lvl 7)
- Unable to use armors, bracers, etc.
- Can use all fighter weapons.
- 6 Proficiencies slots
- Thac0/Dmg bonus (+2)
- AC Bonus (-2)
- Ability : "Kai"

Kensai (lvl 7) - Mage (lvl1)
- Unable to use armors, bracers, etc.
- Can only use mage weapons (Staves, Slings, Darts, Daggers).
- 1 *Active* proficiencies slots.
- 6 *Disabled* proficiencies slots.

Kensai (lvl 7) - Mage (lvl8)
- Unable to use armors, bracers, etc.
- Can use all fighter weapons. (Re-activated)
- 6 Proficiencies slots from 7 levels as a Kensai (Re-activated)
- 2 Proficiencies slots from 8 levels as a Mage
- Thac0/Dmg bonus (+2) (Re-activated)
- AC Bonus (-2) (Re-activated)
- Ability : "Kai" (Re-activated)

EDIT : I'm not 100% sure about the "Unable to use armors, bracers, etc." restriction still being active when you're a Kensai (lvl 7) - Mage (lvl1)... tell me if I'm wrong!!!
