yeah, get more mods and just keep deleting spam, and ban the accounts, so their post count never rises, and do a subnet ban, so that his/her whole isp cant connect to the forum/site, and tell their isp, so that they get kicked off it for the sake of the other users... That may not work, but it sounds good Image

if you banned all free email addresses than that would mean it would just be me and Drakron against Weasel's legions of darkness Image but on a more serious note, Buck i would like to know exactly what you consider spam? i mean take a look a the 'planar shpere problem' thread. we've gotten totally off topic(but its fun!)do you think of that as spam? if so than we could stop, but its not like we're repeating the same thing over 4 times in a row.

Alienbob; Good point.

Buck, et al; What is considered spam? I understand classifying the start of this thread as 'out of line' but what about the other threads that get skewed from their original 'intent'? (Which seems to me to be most of them. I'm NOT complaining as you can see from most of my posts I enjoy discussion for discussion's sake! Image ).

Spamming IMHO is when someone post numbers in post after post with nothing else to say. That I believe Buck has put an end to.

As for posting another topic about the same thing one after another to try to get help with something, that is wrong and people should be told not to do that. (I have seen Maurice warn them before, and this was before he moved up to the untouchable level. Image)

If you need help and post a topic and it gets pushed down the page , just post a post in your own topic saying you still need help .Just don't go crazy and keep posting in your topic over and over again , only keep moving your topic up when it moves to the second or third page of the forum.

And remember no one gets paid to answer your ? So please don't complain if the help you get doesn't help ,most of the time someone (Drakron and his Book) Image will know a way to help you.

As for Buck I don't know what to tell you , I'm glad it not I having to make this choose.

Buck, IMHO those guys who try to spam again are nuts. As former spamster i think it's not the best way to ban the whole free email since in my country not everyone very lucky to have personal ISP connection, sometime they have to rent hourly in some communication shops. Also some older people using their office to access internet, and i think sometimes they are not given any email boxes by the network administrator. I knew that some Singaporean company in my country does that (a very stingy company).
I'm not quite sure if this is work but how about an ignore feature like they use on the chat room, which also require the user to choose reason to ignore. If the amount of ignoring people to a person getting into some limit the administrator may look onto the database to see the reason. If the reason says too many spamming then The administrator may ban them.
i'm not quite an expert in networking or Internet programming, that's the best i can think about now. I'll disscuss this matter with a friend who know more than i do then i'll let you know.
