I like medium armor, because just like my character, medium armor has a little bit of goodness from all the categories. E.G. all those Echani-esque pansies can't do jack cuz their Echani-esque pansy daggers bounce right back, but at the same time all those hardcore Mandalorian-esque heavy armor guys can't get a swing at me on account of my relative nibleness. Besides, Dark Minion armor looks better than all those other guys when you're wearing raven wings.
Is the Armor any good? As far as strong, compared to Ebony.
Any good well in a rating of 1 to 10 i give it an 8 and a half.I mean sure its no6t daedric but its better than iron or steel. But yes very nice looking( besides the fact that it makes your head like a pinecone when you were the helm Rofl!!!

I like unarmored, since you dont have any armor weight on you at all... so you run super fast.

Yep, unarmored is probably the best as far as longrun characters IMO. You need Speed to use it well anyways, so on top of that, there's the no weight thing. Very useful, because I run a lot. ;) Except from cliff racers. They must ALL die!

I use heavy for everything except torso (Saviours Hide there, of course=)) Helm of Oreyn is cool for the head (nice armor rating and agility), though I hate that it gives 40 to Endurance (does this attr do ANYTHING?!! when increased magically) instead of, say, str or luck. Also train in unarmored, cause never use shield. As a matter of fact, armor really doesnt play a great role once u get a 100 point sanctuary - with that baby on nothing can hit u anyway. On top of everything I wear the Robe of Drakes Pride (really nice for a mage). By the way, did anyone see a better robe out there?
By the way, did anyone see a better robe out there?
Umm, there was this one time I made an enchanted robe using the Telvanni Robe mod, and although I can't remember what it did, it was marginally sweeter than drake's pride.

I don't know its exact AC, but I do know that Nordic rates higher than Ebony.
If I'm going for serious protection, I have my character wear Nordic greaves, Nordic boots, Cuirass of the Saviour's Hide, fists of Randagulf, Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw, and Eleidon's Ward shield.

Not only does this combo provide excellent protection, but the pieces also look quite good together owing to all of that white and silver. (it also helps that I use the Domina meshes though)

The neat thing about combining light with heavy is that you get the advantages of both, and you aren't carrying around as much weight. As opposed to medium armor, which doesn't really provide the advantages of either.

I voted light because its highest armor (glass) is much beter than the highest medium armor rating (at 100 with indorl/ordinator armor compared to about 166 with glass at 100 in each skill) does ne1 know of a better medium armor set? i play on xbox with the old vers. to lazy to upgrade until oblivion comes out.

As for my wimp mage, unarmored will do I fear. Not that it is extremely protective but hey, it´s light and with a strength of 42 (I think), there´s not much you can haul around!

I got myself a full glass armour set but I am not overly sure I´ll get to using it.

That´s what life´s like when you´re a mage!

Cheers all

Heavy armor is my fancy. It just seems to be the most realistic fighter type armor that I can see. Plus alot of really nice armor sets are out there in heavy. I being a die hard fan of feudal europe really enjoy plate armor such as adamantium though if I had to go with a medium or light armor it would be either bonemold or glass.

I say unarmored because it allows for maximum looting while exploring. I tend to switch around but all in all, the lighter the better. On second thought, I also think ebony armor is the coolest. :D

I actually like the way bonemold looks but its too weak at this stage in the game...I like wearing Her Hands Pauldrons with Fists of Randagulf...Saviors Hide due to wear Boots of Blinding speed....I like the Glass Helm and ofcourse I like the Royal guard Helm, I think its the best looking Helm so far....the Ebony Helm looks too small. Her Hands Helm wood be nice if I could get away with it....I dont like the Her Hands Cuirass to much due to the stuff that goes around your legs and feat looks weird like a dress....

Glass Armour just looks awesome. But if you can't find a full set; the Savior's Hide is a rather easy piece of very good armour to get early on.

If you've got a PC with good RAM, consider adding Jeremy's Knight's of Tamriel armor sets. Most of them are heavy, though one is light (and scanty). They offer slightly better protection than the best in native MW, but you also have to complete short quests of variable difficulty to grab a set. Beautiful stuff.

i use a mix of armors mainly because i only use legendary armor (cept for pauldrens and greaves(which are stalthrim and enchanted) so i use all except unarmored.

I like to switch around. Right now I've reached level 100 for my light and am starting my training with medium and heavy by just putting on a Knights Cuiras. I'm gonna do the same with a medium cuiras later.

I use mostly light armor. I now use snow wolf armor except the gloves which i have replaced with some really good ones i think the left give you +20 agility and the right +20 strengt, with them on i dont need to add any points on strenght.

BTW! I really need to know which towns, cities who buys very expensive armor and weapons, i have Nordic plate mail except gauntlets, i have a ebony curcass, glass boots and helm, daedric weapons. Its so annyoing not to find any armour, smith, weapons shops with shopkeepers who have loads of gold.

Most of the time I use Light Armor because of Cuirass of the Saviors Hide, which adds like 60% magic resistance. I then use Boots of Blinding Speed in addition. If I don't think I will use armor till late in the game I go unarmored, and train my Light, Medium, and Heavy armors as misc. skills.
