Good Malkavian Build?

Did you have it activated prior to triggering the fight? Once you're fighting him it is rare to have him out of LoS.

I was stealthed when entering the room and activating obfuscate worked allright. I also observed him unnoticed for a while before attempting an attack. I do think that the first time I went up the stairs immediately, that is before attempting any attack. Oddly, I had 3 in stealth the first time, and now it was on 5. I suppose I was just lucky that he never saw me that first time.

Maybe of tactical interest, he lost sight of me when I went upstairs (and obfuscate kicked back in), I can imagine going up and (jumping) down might help tactically.

Oh, well, he isn't too hard. Could it be that he has more trouble hitting you when you're crouched?

It could be, he swings way over your head. The same thing happened when I blocked though.
