I'd hate to resort to the "My [insert noun here] is bigger than your" game, but...

Mages have Clerics and Druids down in nearly all areas of magic, the notable exception being healing.

Mages get:
[*]Sequencers and contingencies. No way to start a fight like an automatic Power Word Blind.
[*]Clones. Think a lone Mage is tough? Wait until his Simulacrums and Projected Images step out of his Chain Confingency.
[*]The best protections. Spell Immunity and Spell Turning beat Shield of the Archons any day.
[*]The best invisibility. Sanctuary keeps you safe when casting spells on yourself. Mislead keeps you invisible when casting spells on others as well.

Ranger/Clerics also have their strong points, just less. Nature's Beauty finishes fights right away, unless the victim has the right Spell Immunity (or Jan's glasses).

@Scott

2+ years and you've never been bashed? Most impressive. You either scare everyone off or you mope quietly in the background. ;) I seem to remember getting flamed within 5 minutes of being here. But I do like it hot and give as good as I get.

I'm glad you can see just how cheesy you are then (your original post did not sound anythink like that). Just as long as you know that you whiff of fromage just as much as everyone else does.

A question though: I don't have ToB, is it not cheesy then that SoA lets me dual class a stalker?

Hey, in SOA did the ranger-cleric dual get all cleric & druid spells plus 3 stars in dual weapons? If so can I uninstall TOB then reinstall & import? How does a multi-class compare to a dual ranger-cleric & are you able to get the cleric ring +1 strength at lvl 25 on a multi-class. Thanks for listening, checked the search and could not find much.

Any high level mage can just cast a chain contingency and set it to "enemy sighted" then load it with 3 Abi Dalzims. So I would say good-bye to that Ranger/Cleric unless hes got hella magic resistance. But you know, a well played mage kills everything in the game! :D Just stating a little fact.

Maybe I should have started a new topic, I did wanna start another flame/pissin' contest, just a newby askin' a stupid question. Please humor me with an answer to my previous question. "Hey, in SOA did the ranger-cleric dual get all cleric & druid spells plus 3 stars in dual weapons? If so can I uninstall TOB then reinstall & import? How does a multi-class compare to a dual ranger-cleric & are you able to get the cleric ring +1 strength at lvl 25 on a multi-class. Thanks for listening, checked the search and could not find much." BTW, were can I find a table that lists the attack progression by level i.e. Kensai gets another attack at level 13. Thanx again!

Can anyone confirm that a Ranger/Cleric is a possile combination?

And can anyone confirm that this was allowed in SoA?

Cause having both CLeric and Druid spells is pretty mad.

Oh and about fighter/Mages. I have a -16AC and can still cast (and thats with the robe of venca)

All Ranger kits can dual to Cleric in SoA.

Only pure Ranger and Beast Master and dual to Cleric in ToB.

I think I'm gonna make a stalker/cleric dual on my other computer (without TOB)and import it to my laptop (with TOB), what level should I dual at & do I have to dual before importing? If anybody knows if it works I'd appreciate any info, save me some time if I'm doing this wrong. Another thing, Archer dualled to a cleric would'nt be possible cuz of the restriction on sharp stuff, would it? Thanx.

Archer-Clerics are stuck with Sling, in which they may only specialize.
