No, 30000 is just enough to buy the shield, but not anything else.

@Lorsadan - Hmmm....Thanks!

Re Mindflayers - if you have the level 7 mage spell Mordenkainens Sword (spelling?) it is lethal. Though not summoned for a massive amount of time it is immune to mindflayer attacks and causes a lot of damage. Next best I have found is Invisible Stalker.... ;)

I like obtaining gold in the game through completing quests when I know there is something whorthwhile I can spend it on. The robe of Vecna will prove very useful, save up for the sling of everade too, if you plan to have aerie or anomen use slings in the background. The sling is +5 to hit, and it does not use ammo.

In my party are me, minsc, aerie, anomen, Jan, and keldorn. jan is at level 10 or something and the rest are around the same. Do you think im ready to do the windspear hills quest and fight the dragon? I have the dragon bane weapon thing that is +6 against dragons. if not, what level should i be at? thanks

I believe the sling of Everard is sold by the other bonus merchant you can now find in the copper coronet. His name is Joluv, and he is located in the lower middle corner of the copper coronet. He looks like a noble.

About Winspeare Hills, you might be ready, just be sure to have Anemone memorize negative plane protection spells for the dungeon and also Sunray spell for the undeads. And a Magic resistance spell to cast on the dragon before you fight the dragon is good too. If you don't have those spells yet, you might want to wait.
