I just had to go through and repair some of the vBulletin database tables, so the forums weren't functioning for about 10-minute interval. I'm still looking into the root cause of the corruption, though, which I'll hopefully have nailed down soon.

To help alleviate the database issues, I've created separate IDs for our two busiest MySQL applications (these forums and our ad script). If you still get any database errors, I would appreciate it if you could right click inside your browser window and choose "View Source". This will open up a window that displays the exact reason for the error, which you can then copy/paste into another reply to this thread. Knowing the exact error will help me track down any future problems.

And a second time this morning, I'll paste the view source information I got again, just in case there are various errors (since I can't read this type of material ;) )

Most of mine, if not all, have been identical to the above, with this message. My newest one was no different from the others I've recieved except for the description below.

I've had the error several times now, it's always been the following error:

mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (11)
/home/gbadmin/htdocs/forums/includes/class_core.php on line 279

I've went through and reconfigured MySQL to allow for more consecutive connections, which will hopefully clear up the remaining database errors. Please let me know if you encounter more errors after this change.

Thanks for all the help tracking this down. I'm still tweaking settings today, so you may get more or less database errors than usual. They're all the same error so far, though, so from here on please post View Source information only if it differs from the errors above.

Clean up on aisle Succeeder Stronghold.

Just a warning guys, if you get the error when you post, don't hit refresh, or you double post... or post 10 times like Athena.

Someone may want to clean up the mess too...

Same error as the ones mentioned.

In addition to the multiple postings.... (there are better things to have multiples of :p ), I just want to mention as well that in SYM brand new threads that have posts in them are showing as having zero posts. And other threads are not showing the most recent poster. For example, BS' new thread actually has several posts but SYM's main page shows it as having zero. Similarly, while Lestat was the last person to post in the Succeeder Stronghold, it is showing Athena to have been the most recent poster.

The latter of DW's post is true for this thread as well, showing the newest poster as 'Buck Satan'.

Got a new error when I was trying to use the search function.

EDIT- A link for Athena's username as last poster of the SS has taken me to DJV's profile. DJV is not the last poster there either.

I left and decided to take a few screenshots. Captions follow.

[First Caption] It appears that the forum does not update at all on the main page either. It still shows Mr Sir as the last poster, even though this one has several posts following yours.

[Second Caption] This is the GameBanshee Discussion Forum. As you can see, it lists you as last poster and as the second thread.

[Third Picture] SYM. BS' thread has at least seven replies due to database errors and the last poster in the SS was Athena, even though Lestat triple posted last. Her profile link takes me to DJV's from that screen. Also, DW's post does not show as a new one after mine, as you can see, in the thread on top.
