dragon wench said: Very good point! Programmes like Mcaffee and Norton are real pigs on system resources. This is why I prefer Avast (beyond that it's free), it's much leaner.
Um, sorry off topic there.
@ DW. No your not of the topic. Where can I get Avast?

http://www.avast.com/

However, I strongly advise you to research anti-virus software before dumping your version of Mcaffee. ;) You may decide Avast is not for you, or that user reviews indicate Mcaffee is better.
You may also want to pose this question in Game Banshee's Tech Support Forum. There are people there who are far more knowledgeable than I am.

For me, I have had very good results with Avast, but others may not concur ;)

Here are some reviews at CNET, but definitely do some Googling for reviews elsewhere too.

And some consumer reviews of AV software more generally:

Another question. Are graphics cards and video cards the same?

I have seen the terms used interchangeably.

The card has arrived but it won't go in to the computer. Does anyone have a DELL Dimension with a Geforce fx 5200 graphics card in it. If so what did they do to get it in.

You really should post this in the tech forum, you'll likely get more answers ;)

The only thing that comes to my mind is that maybe your computer doesn't have the right slot for the card. There are two types, AGP and PCI.
I think that AGP is the older type, though I'm not completely certain.

A Geforce 5200 for 40 POUNDS? It's not even worth 40 USD.

Yeah... Maybe they are cheaper in the US?
I paid somewhere between 50 and 60 in Cdn $, so I was a bit surprised to see it at 40 pounds too..

As I said above, it's a low level card...it shouldn't have been that much..

I'm sending it back. Does any one know of a card around the same price that goes in a PCI slot.
