if you'd ned 1000 posts or even 500 i wouldn't be able to get one.. think about the guy that started this petition.
maybe they would have to be pre-approved by admin or a mod?
What would that make Ravager and people with over 10,000 posts then?

i think it would even be cool if your title chaged depemding on where you post most. eg:
SYM: SYMian.
RPG Threads: ?????? (any suggestions?)
Tech Support: Tech Dept.
etc..

@ PK. Don't like that idea - type casting

@PK - you are 27 posts short of 500. I'm only on 560 or something.
It's sort of like after 50 posts there is no 'upgrade'. (except mods - how do you get that?) and 100 is probs too low...
I see Fiona's point - people are less likely to trust advice on the KotOR forums if your title says 'Nerevarine' or 'SYMian'...
Meh... We'll see what Buck says.

Buck speaks not to his minions, as a proper master should, unless they misbehave. (the latter I know nothing about, ofcourse.)

I'd like the ability to change my title - I selected it over two years ago based on a NWN Persistent world I used to play on - its not applicable now and I can't change it...

Personally, I think it would be a nice little "extra", but it isn't something I'd make a fuss over. I look at the posts. I don't bother paying attention to avatars most of the time unless I am bored and trying to amuse myself. The same with sigs. I change mine a lot from bored too.
*shrugs* It would just be another thing for people to look at I suppose. I don't see why you can't just put whatever you wanted as your title in your sig?
On one hand, sure it's nice. If you're really good, you might even succeed at making someone smile for a second with your custom title. But on the other hand: why would you want to customize everything around your post? It's the post that counts. In fact, it wouldn't be horrible if posts had only a name, avatar and join date above them.
What's the point of surrounding your messages with all kinds of texts, quotes and what not? It's really only the name/avatar and message that counts when posting here.
So, while I think a custom title is really nice, I don't think it'll add anything.
I don't entirely disagree. I do think that it is the post itself that counts for most. That being said, however, I also think things like avatar, location and signature say a great deal about somebody.
Me? I will first take notice of a member's post. If it interests me, I will look at their personal choices in presenting themselves.
Sure, I concur, all of the personal accoutrements are mere icing on the cake. But why not allow people to have titles if they so wish? As I said before, I just don't see the big deal, given that we already have the other choices.
And, as I've already stated, it doesn't seem fair to me that it is only something a few of us have by sheer lucky fluke.
Finally, I really do think that making it available to SYM posters would help to expand the gene pool here a little, because, frankly, the place could seriously use it.

Hmm, perhaps a business arrangement then? I'm a business minded person. A members cost for perks that non-paying members wouldn't have? Something along the lines of say, no advertisements, customizable posts. Like, I have been dying to find a way to have a permanent setting for font, color, etc for my posts. Things like that, I would be willing to pay a yearly nominal fee for that.

That was very similar to what we had with the subscription. I think, ultimately, it became too much of a headache for Buck to administrate, or something like that. Plus, it wasn't bringing in the hoped for revenue, as I recall.
Somebody who knows more about this, please correct me if I'm mistaken.
I suspect that making the ads universal brings in a lot more cash... I might be wrong though.

Hmm, I could see that happening. However, I just figured I would throw it out there. Meh, I'd offer to help out if it was wanted. I have some basic accounting abilities, although I'm sure Buck does all monetary based things on his own.
