He serves no purpose at all but is very fun to kill. I've found several ways but the funniest is taking him to the top of frostcrag spire and pushing him off the top, it doesn't even count as murder lol.

I can see the light the way thing, but I've seen mud crabs put up more of a fight than him.

I put him inside my house in the Imperial city, and when I get tired of fighting or doing missions I through books at him. It may sound stupid but its kind of fun.
