THanks for the link... although after I downloaded the .exe installer and installed the plugin. Tried to follow the cryptic, obviously free, program instructions it still doesn't work. Tried reading the help file but to no avail. any help.

To open a NIF file with blender. Go to import then NIF then select the file you want. Unfortunately blender can't read DDS so you can only open a NIF that has a TGA texture. There may be a plugin though.


Thanks DJ. I've been looking for 3d software. Now I just need to work out how to use it.

Happy to help, I've been meaning to give 3d a go myself, just never got around to it, and didn't have a program, until I heard about that, so I'll have to try it out at some point.

If those plugins linked don't work, just test a few out. I simply searched [url="http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&q=blender+nif&btnG=Google+Search&meta="]Blender nif[/url] in google, and linked the first result. I'm sure one of the other pages might have exactly what you need.
