Just cleric levels...

(the same is for ALL spellcasters)

I think it also means that a Dreadmaster/Wizard combo does NOT get the +1 DC vs Will for the wizard spells - only the cleric ones.

(Edit: slow post...)

@kmonster

I know my characters are crippled healers, but that is not their primary function - besides, I have:
a) 6 scrolls (Raise Dead & Resurrection) and:
b) 25+ Potions of Extra Healing, spread out over my 4 characters (18 are for the dwarf who tends to get hit)
c) 8 Spirit Essence potions for my dwarf
d) Regeneration items on 3 of my 4 characters (with that peripat item spare)

As you can guess, I get along nicely, without having to do much healing (and I don't rest every 5 minutes either).
e) The ability to rest (and regain spells)!

for priest and druids... wisdom is only for bonus spells right and will saves right?

they are NOT needed to cast higher spells?

Besides the big lack of power (high level spells are far more powerful than low level spells and most spell effects get better with levels) I don't think it is fun having a cleric8/druid8 who can't even cast level5 spells in the party while your pure spellcasters can already cast level 8 spells. Spells which do about 10 damage are good against goblins but nearly useless against level 16 monsters.
If you want both, take a pure cleric and a pure druid. Multiclassing will yield rather nothing than half of both classes. Even 6 multiclassed cleric/druids have less priest power than only 1 pure cleric and 1 pure druid.
you overlook the option of staggering development, and the effects of hof play (ie hitting the level cap of 30)

imho there is vey little difference for a divine caster beyond level 17 / 18 so it makes perfect sense for a 17th lv cleric to start picking up levels elsewhere and druid is a natural fit (no pun intended) since they will also benefit from the high wisdom scores.

17/13 cleric/druid is by far a better option than a 30th lv cleric. (or 30th druid)

They are needed. You need a wisdom score equal to 10+the Spells Level of the spell you want to be able to cast. So, if you only want to cast 2nd level spells, you only need a 12 Wisdom. If you want 9th level spells, you need a 19 wisdom.

Cha is the relevant score for Bards and Sorcerers. Int is for Wizards.

Druid Spoiler

(Spoiler)
Highlight to read:
A druid (or ranger) with a high wilderness lore might make navigating the lost woods maze easier. I'll try again without either class, just having a character having a high skill to see if that's adequate. I'd also imagine dialogue options might alter when having a druid speak to certain people.(end of spoiler)

You don't need a druid or ranger for this, and you don't even need a single point in wilderness lore. Any character with high enough wisdom modifier can succeed. If you fail you just can retry as often as you wish.
